Job description

Summary of Job Duties: Responsible for operating various equipment in the production process including encapsulation, tablet compression, machine tooling, complicated mixing operations and tablet coating. - Set up machinery and ensure all production materials are available. - Operate and monitor equipment and replenish materials as needed. - Visually inspect production run and document results. - Determine and report malfunctions to appropriate parties. - Maintain cleanliness of equipment and assigned area.
Specific Job Duties:
  1. Ensure that products meet applicable quality standards. This includes inspection for quality during operation and performing all required sampling and testing. Assure continuous and the smooth operation of the lines for required quality and quantity.
  2. Meet all safety expectations including wearing the required personnel protective equipment and follow all safe practices
  3. Collect and analyze data using skills in applied math
  4. Perform basic and routine maintenance activities
  5. Able to work outside normal scheduled hours and OT
  6. Use basic hand and power tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, hammers, drills etc.
  7. Work in a team environment and flow to the work and assist others
  8. Cross-training will occur throughout the facility in all aspects of high speed manufacturing.
  9. Ensuring Documentation in relation to Processor Operation Logs are fully completed, signed and in compliance with Company Standard and Regulatory Requirements.
  10. When out of compliance or standards not meet assist supervisor in completion of Deviation Report detailing both Short and Longer Term Corrective Action Steps.
  11. Ensure full compliance with Companies Policies, Procedures, GMP's, Code of Safe Practices and SOP's at all times.
  12. Assists Quality Assurance in obtaining samples of products and other miscellaneous duties.
  13. Disassemble, clean/sanitize and reassemble all required equipment
  14. Set up, maintain, monitor, adjust equipment, routine maintenance, troubleshoot as necessary to maintain product, quality, and safety specifications
  15. Communicate and interact with others in a manner consistent with the company's "I Can Make a Difference" philosophies.
  16. Performs all other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor

Minimum Qualifications Required:
  1. High school diploma or GED required.
  2. 1+ years Machine operator experience required
  3. Self-motivated and ability to take initiative and use sound judgment in day-to-day decision making
  4. Punctual and reliable in work attendance
  5. Flexible and able to manage others
  6. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  7. Excellent English communication skills required, bilingual speaker a plus
  8. Working Conditions: Loud environment with exposure to powder and heavy equipment in a manufacturing atmosphere
  9. 18 years of age or older
  10. Ability to read and write legibly in English
  11. Ability to work multiple shifts and/or schedules.

Skills and/or Training Desired:
  1. Knowledge in HAACP, Microbiology, Chemical Safety, Pest Control and Quality Systems.
  2. Data collection, analysis, trouble shooting, and problem solving using defined methodologies.
  3. Decision making.

  6. Communicate effectively verbally and in written documents.
