Job description

Job Description At BAE Systems, Space and Mission Systems (SMS) "We Protect Those Who Protect Us." The Tactical Solutions Strategic Business Unit (SBU) within BAE Systems Space and Mission Systems (SMS) delivers mission system solutions, from specialized antennas to radio-frequency electronics, and electro-optical technologies, to the warfighter. Our systems enhance the performance of various military platforms, from aircraft and land vehicles to ships and satellites, and give warfighters the advantage they need to take action, identify targets and defend against evolving threats. We are seeking a highly experienced Manager IV to lead our Contracts function within our Integrated Production Programs (IPP) Mission Area. This role will be responsible for directing and managing Contracts Management staff including experienced specialist employees or other managers who exercise significant latitude and independence, acting as a recognized expert and advisor for proposals and programs, and providing strategic contractual leadership to Mission Area and SBU leadership. The role must show mastery of and responsibility for leading program and functional teams with adherence to the BAE Systems SMS policies and procedures, the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and customer requirements. The Contracts Strategic Capabilities Unit delivers the expertise and business acumen to increase value across the enterprise by providing actionable contractual and regulatory information with recommendations and opportunities to drive sustainable business growth. What You'll Do: * Manage and direct the activities of employees or other managers in Tactical Solutions Contracts Management staff, including hiring, supervising, and coaching staff.
* Provide insights to SBU leadership to support achievements of financial and contractual targets
* Comprehensively manage, communicate, and report the contractual execution of programs in the Tactical Solutions Business Unit
* Serve as business advisor to Tactical Solutions SBU senior leadership for long-range planning and, where applicable, contractual performance analysis.
* Support preparation of contractual aspects of TS Program Performance Reviews (PPR) / Internal Business Review (IBR) and quarterly Estimate and Complete (EAC) process.
* Support programs to provide contractual guidance to help maintain SBU financial commitments.
* Provide leadership and support for internal and external contractual audits across Tactical Solutions.
* Ensure proposals and other submitted estimates operations are compliant with regulatory requirements and conducted in accordance with BAE Systems SMS best practices.
* Develop information which extends knowledge in the Contracts Management field.
* Establish policies appropriate for the function, and interpret and recommend modifications to company-wide policies and procedures.
* Act with the understanding that decisions have a significant and extended impact on work processes and outcomes.
* Interact frequently with senior management. * Conduct business and technical briefings for senior and top management and for external representatives. * Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
* Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
* Perform other duties as necessary. On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required. Working Conditions: * Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor. Short Term Incentive: Subject to business performance and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan. Required Education, Experience, & Skills * Bachelor's degree in a related field plus 12 or more years related experience. * Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education. * A current, active Secret security clearance is required. * Experience working on large-scale Department of War production programs.

* 6 or more years previous managerial/supervisory experience
* Understanding of typical contract requirements and processes
* Excellent communication, customer-facing experience, and/or consultative experience working across multiple groups and boundaries at senior management and executive levels.
* Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation and related supplements

Full-Time Salary Range: $157911 - $268449 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
