Job description

Redwood Credit Union is seeking an Automation Analyst II, who will be responsible for the analysis, design and implementation of advanced enterprise automation solutions that leverage Robotic Process Automation (RPA), AI-driven workflows, and Microsoft Copilot technologies. This role serves as a technical leader in automation initiatives, focusing heavily on integrating AI capabilities such as Copilot agents, intelligent document processing, decisioning, and natural language interfaces into business workflows.

The Automation Analyst II partners closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors to identify automation opportunities, architect intelligent solutions, and deliver scalable, secure, and reliable automations across the organization. This role requires a strong balance of technical expertise, analytical thinking, and business process understanding, and operates with minimal supervision.
 
Key Responsibilities
Advanced Automation Analysis & Solution Design:
o Lead end-to-end lifecycle of automation initiatives, including process discovery, feasibility analysis, solution architecture, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
o Analyze complex business processes and independently evaluate and recommend AI-first and automation-first solutions, incorporating Microsoft Copilot agents, AI prompts and orchestration, RPA (UiPath preferred), workflow and API-based integrations.
o Serve as a subject matter expert for intelligent automation, mentoring Automation Analyst I staff and providing direction on solution design reviews.
o Collaborate with functional and technical stakeholders to translate business requirements into strategic and scalable automation solutions that improve organizational operations.
o Develop detailed technical documentation, solution designs, workflows, and governance artifacts.
AI & Copilot-Focused Automation:
Design and oversee implementation of AI-enhanced automations, including:
o Copilot agents and copiloted workflows.
o Intelligent document processing and OCR.
o AI-assisted decision logic and exception handling.
o Natural language interaction layers for business users.
o Integrate Microsoft Copilot capabilities with existing RPA platforms (UiPath) and enterprise systems.
o Ensure AI automations are secure, compliant, explainable, and auditable, in alignment with internal policies.
o Continuously evaluate and recommend enhancements using emerging AI capabilities within the Microsoft ecosystem.
Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Development:
o Design, develop, and maintain UiPath automations and orchestrations at an enterprise scale.
o Create reusable components, frameworks, and shared libraries to improve development efficiency and consistency.
o Monitor automation performance, reliability, and throughput, resolving issues and optimizing workflows.
o Lead testing, validation, and deployment strategies for production automations.
o Coordinate upgrades, version changes, and platform enhancements across RPA and AI tooling; advise of system improvements.
Operations, Monitoring & Support:
o Provide advanced technical support for automation and AI workflows, including production issue resolution and root cause analysis.
o Maintain automation service logs, metrics, and performance dashboards.
o Ensure workflows execute accurately, securely, and on schedule (daily, weekly, month-end, and critical business cycles).
o Review and manage access controls, user security, and encryption standards for automation platforms.
o Interact with third-party vendors and consultants supporting AI, RPA, and workflow systems.
Governance, Quality & Best Practices:
o Establish and enforce automation development standards, QA protocols, and AI governance guidelines.
o Ensure automations meet enterprise standards for security, data privacy, logging, and compliance.
o Participate in automation roadmap planning and continuous improvement initiatives, while influencing long-term strategy.
o Act as an internal advisor to business units on process optimization to identify and eliminate inefficiencies, redundancies, and manual work through intelligent automation.

Minimum Qualification: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong hands-on experience with: UiPath (preferred), Microsoft Power Platform and/or Copilot technologies.
    Experience integrating automation with enterprise systems using APIs, files, and databases.
  • Working knowledge of one or more scripting/programming languages such as: Python, and Powershell.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently analyze and automate complex business processes.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in production environments.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-impact initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to automation quality.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and mentor team members.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and guide decision making.
  • Willingness to support off-hours deployments or incidents when required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience building or integrating Microsoft Copilot agents.
  • Exposure to AI/ML concepts within business automation.
  • Experience with UiPath, Automation Anywhere or Blue Prism.
The ideal candidate has an education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in business, information technology, computer science, or closely related field with a minimum of five years’ experience in RPA development, automation engineering, or software development.
 
Compensation: Base starting range: $100,604 to $132,552 annually commensurate with experience.
Our base salary starting range is based on scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, and internal peer equity.
