Business Analyst (Automation / RPA Focus)

Location:  Chicago, Baltimore, Philadelphia, DC (Hybrid)
Duration: Contract to hire


Position Overview

Exelon''s Digital Services organization is seeking a Business Analyst (Automation / RPA Focus) to support automation and process transformation initiatives across the business.

This is not a traditional requirements-gathering Business Analyst role. The ideal candidate will operate in a consultative capacity, partnering with business stakeholders to analyze processes, identify automation opportunities, and help shape solutions.

The role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of business and technology and is comfortable navigating ambiguous environments.


Key Responsibilities

Partner with business stakeholders to understand current-state processes and workflows.

Analyze systems, processes, and data to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.

Document current-state and future-state business processes.

Participate in workshops and working sessions to uncover automation opportunities.

Evaluate automation initiatives by determining:

Can the process be automated?

Does automation provide sufficient business value and ROI?

Collaborate with technical teams, including RPA developers, to validate feasibility and support solution design.

Bring structure and clarity to loosely defined business challenges.


Required Qualifications

3–5+ years of Business Analyst experience.

Experience with process discovery, process mapping, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Exposure to RPA tools or automation programs (UiPath preferred).

Strong IT background with understanding of systems and integrations.

Experience working with both business and technical stakeholders.

Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.


Preferred Qualifications

Exposure to UiPath automation projects.

Experience in utilities or other regulated industries (preferred but not required).
