Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Backend Software Engineer II plays a vital role as an independent contributor, focusing on the development of moderately complex backend features and services. This position involves taking ownership of small modules, engaging in design discussions, and providing mentorship to junior engineers. Furthermore, collaboration with various teams is essential to ensure the delivery of high-quality, production-ready software. This role will work on several projects but will have a focus on Data Migration work.
This role is located on-site in Appleton, WI at our Corporate Headquarters.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with product managers, QA, and other stakeholders to deliver quality backend solutions.
  • Design and implement moderately complex backend features, APIs, and services utilizing .NET Core.
  • Assume responsibility for small modules or components, with a focus on ensuring they are maintainable, reliable, and easily testable.
  • Engage in technical design discussions, providing valuable input and suggesting alternative solutions for consideration.
  • Offer mentorship to junior engineers and interns through constructive guidance and thoughtful reviews.
  • Conduct code reviews for less experienced engineers to help maintain high standards and promote overall quality.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 2-4 years of backend software engineering experience.
  • Proficiency with .NET Core, C#, REST APIs, and relational databases.
  • Ability to design, code, test, and debug independently.

Preferred:
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture.
  • Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with cloud services (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
