Job description

WHAT DOES A TRAFFIC SUPERVISOR DO?

Responsible for the management of all inbound/outbound shipments and yard control at the Distribution Center. Will coordinate with Freight Forwarders and 3PL logistics providers to ensure proper workflow, shipment prioritization and order volume availability. Role is supported by a Load/Unload Coordinator.

ABOUT YOU

The ideal candidate will have experience with YMS, Freight Forwarders, OTR, and intermodal. The incumbent is expected to take initiative, think, and act in the spirit of continuous improvement, and escalate concerns appropriately.

WITH OUR CONSUMER AT THE HEART, YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE TO:

  • Overseas team of five admins over two shifts.
  • Responsible for the management of all inbound/outbound shipments and yard control at the Distribution Center.
  • Coordinates with Freight Forwarders, 3PL Domestic logistics provider, and internal customer service to ensure proper workflow, shipment prioritization and volume availability.
  • Manages and measures the effectiveness of the Freight Forwarder and 3PL logistics provider through KPI reporting.
  • Responsible for the Export Shipments to the Caribbean and to Custom Bonded Warehouses.
  • Responsible for the execution of an efficient load/unload schedule and yard jokey production.
  • Responsible for accuracy and execution of DC OFR (order fulfillment rate)
  • Budgetary responsibly of detention & demurrage charges, transportation charges, and yard control.
  • Responsible for efficient and effective use of Yard Management System through KPI Reporting
  • Works closely with Customs Manager for the timely coordination, release, and scheduling of containers from port.
  • Audit invoices and submit invoices from contracted 3PLs.

SKILLS

THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED TO CREATE YOUR LEGACY:

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and use of Yard Management Systems.
  • SAP knowledge is preferred.
  • Perform Carrier Analysis - tracking carrier commitments, on-time performance, contractual adherence.
  • Audit and process Ocean & domestic trucking Shipment invoices.

PERSONAL QUALITIES & Experience

  • 100% Responsibility mindset.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • 5 years' experience in the transportation and distribution fields.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines
  • Detail orientated with ability to multi-task
