Job description

Salary: $190,000-$205,000

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatrician to join our Well-Baby Nursery team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive care to healthy newborns, ensuring a safe transition from birth through discharge. The ideal candidate is skilled in neonatal assessment, family education, and collaborative care within a hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform initial and daily assessments of newborns in the well-baby nursery
  • Monitor growth, feeding, vital signs, and overall health status of infants
  • Identify and manage common neonatal conditions such as jaundice, feeding difficulties, and weight loss
  • Provide guidance and education to parents on newborn care, breastfeeding, safe sleep, and early development
  • Collaborate closely with obstetricians, nurses, lactation consultants, and other care team members
  • Coordinate discharge planning, including follow-up care and referrals as needed
  • Respond to newborn deliveries as required and assess infants immediately post-birth
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system
  • Ensure adherence to hospital policies, clinical protocols, and quality standards

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
  • Board certified or board eligible in Pediatrics
  • Valid state medical license
  • Strong clinical and diagnostic skills in neonatal care
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with new parents
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a well-baby nursery or newborn care setting
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
  • Interest or experience in breastfeeding support and newborn education
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records systems
