About the Role:

As a Staff Analyst, you will report into the Sr Analytics Director and partner with senior leadership and cross-functional peers to architect and deliver next-gen analytics and data platforms. You are responsible for driving data innovation, ensuring analytical rigor and performance, and optimizing data processes to deliver high-quality, reliable insights across the B2C portfolio. A primary focus will be defining, tracking, and socializing core metrics for the business, developing a deep understanding of the customer journey, and ensuring the technical excellence of our analytics ecosystem.


You Will:

  • Architect the B2C Data Philosophy and Define the North Star: Establish the strategic long-term vision for growth and retention metrics, which will guide the priorities across the entire B2C portfolio.

  • Bridge Business & Executive Strategy: Drive consensus on core metrics and ensure the strategic vision is adopted by translating data into executive decision-making, converting data philosophy into business impact.

  • Champion Data Innovation and Operational Excellence: Lead the execution of the strategy by ensuring technical feasibility and a future-forward approach. Focus on advancing future capabilities, such as AI/LLMs and self-serve data, while concurrently upholding the platform's reliability and the highest standards of data quality.

  • Navigate Complexity: Strategically resolve highly ambiguous, large-scale business problems, critically evaluating analytical, technical, and strategic trade-offs to deliver definitive insights and action plans.

  • Force Multiply Organizational Impact: Serve as a Staff-level "go-to" expert and mentor, force multiplying Dow Jones' analytical capabilities by building scalable resources, establishing best practices for customer analytics and metric definition, and driving adoption through model reviews and high-quality documentation.

You Have:

  • 7+ years in data analytics or data science, with 3-5 years in a staff+ IC or management role.

  • Substantial experience in applying advanced analytics to digital subscription products, advertising and privacy technologies, and high-traffic websites.

  • Strong understanding of SQL and Python/R for large-scale data manipulation and statistical analysis

  • Expertise in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker) and clearly communicating complex analytical findings.

  • Knowledge of Analytics fundamentals including A/B testing methodology, experimentation design, cloud computing, and data governance principles.

  • Experience with AI tools (Copilot, Claude Code, OpenAI, etc.) for the purpose of improving productivity and building consumer-facing analytical products.

  • BS in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Economics) or equivalent work experience.
