JOB DESCRIPTION – As Workplace Senior Security Engineer, you will be a technical architect and strategic leader for the operations of VERSANT’s physical security and facility systems. The systems span across regions providing physical identity management, access control, video surveillance and facility management systems, monitoring and control of the physical infrastructure in our buildings and data centers. This technical role is expected to apply a software engineering mindset to topics elevating the reliability and security of headend infrastructure systems solutions while reducing operational cost.

Initiatives

  • Ensure new technology solutions are aligned to Versant Media, Physical Security and Facility services strategy
  • Perform system enhancements, maintenance and metrics gathering data for security and facility management systems: Genetec, Continuum, ScheduAll (resource/asset scheduling), EOMS (customized order management system) and EPMS (Electric Power Monitoring System), TripShot (Shuttle service portal) and Asset Tracker (customized asset management) applications
  • Improve the system’s security posture by refining operating procedures

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and support the Genetec unified system; access control system including the readers, panels, turnstiles and other I/O devices; video surveillance system including the cameras, LPR and video analytics modules
  • Monitor and support the Facility systems: Continuum, ScheduAll (resource/asset scheduling), EOMS (asset management) and EPMS (Electric Power Monitoring System), TripShot (Shuttle service portal)
  • Monitor and support Global Risk and Incident response and mass communication applications
  • Maintain all systems integrations with third party solutions via restful API, IIS and SQL querying for reporting modules
  • Maintain high standards and best practices including test, documentation, process application and deployment of solutions
  • Ensure systems are working optimally with daily system checks including communication links
  • Conduct initial diagnostic troubleshooting and determining root cause of simple network and systems problems and escalate as necessary
  • Manage and diagnose initial escalations from system failures to third parties as needed
  • Create monthly metrics reports for systems availability and firmware status
  • Participate in performing systems upgrades and patching
  • Work with other Versant Media engineering teams to adapt new integrations and automated tools to enhance the existing applications
  • Interface with all aspects of the Technology organization, including, but not limited to cyber, networking, firewall, Wintel, database, data warehouse teams
  • Provide support to assist during major incidents/outages as required
  • Manage all access control and video devices for multi-Versant campus’ domestic and international
  • Vendor management
Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years’ experience Genetec systems V5.11+ with knowledge of high availability enterprise architectural designs
  • 3+ years’ experience designing scalable and reliable enterprise solutions including considerations for multi-tier software architectures, networking, and security
  • 3+ years of experience in managing and maintaining facility management systems
  • System administration experience with Windows and Linux
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally to stakeholders and engineers
  • Experience with change management methodologies
  • Experience with identity access systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to execute within a fast-paced agile process
  • Ability to build effective cross-functional relationships in support of delivering enterprise-wide solutions
  • Self-starter, results oriented
  • Experience creating network and system diagrams for both established and new proposed deployments
  • Familiarity in third party systems and custom applications
  • Provide system support during business and after hours on an on-call basis

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Fundamental understanding of Networking (Network+ or CCNA)
  • 2+ years’ experience with cloud-based infrastructure and platform services (Azure, AWS) preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in developing, deploying and operating facility management systems
  • 3+ years of experience in support of Global Risk and response systems
  • Experience with network protocols such as TCP/IP, SNMP, Modbus and BACnet
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, wiring diagrams and device data sheets
  • Experience with automation and motivation around leveraging tools
  • Current and active Genetec Enterprise certifications
