The Solution Architect: Cloud, MAM & News Workflows is a pre-sales technical leader within the Americas Pre-Sales organization. You will serve as the primary subject matter expert for Grass Valley's cloud-native broadcast platform (AMPP), Media Asset Management (MAM) solutions, and news production workflows, while supporting customers throughout the entire opportunity lifecycle, from initial business discovery and workflow consulting through solution architecture, technical validation, commercial support, and delivery transition.
Working closely with Strategic Sales Managers, Product Management, Customer Success, Industry Consultants, Systems Integrators, you will help customers define future-state operating models, modernize content supply chains, architect end-to-end solutions, transform news and production workflows through the application of Grass Valley technologies and industry best practices.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing role that combines deep technical expertise with workflow consulting and business advisory capabilities, requiring equal measures of operational fluency, workflow understanding, and technical depth. Successful candidates will be equally comfortable leading executive discovery workshops, conducting operational assessments, architecting complex multi-platform solutions, and demonstrating product capabilities to technical teams, while serving as a trusted advisor to customers navigating business, operational, and technology transformation initiatives.
Your Role
  • Lead pre-sales technical opportunities across the complete sales lifecycle for MAM, News, and cloud/hybrid workflows, including demand creation, discovery, solution development, technical validation, commercial close, and transition to delivery;
  • Partner with teams during the early stages of strategic opportunities, contributing subject matter expertise to workflow assessments, modernization initiatives, cloud readiness programs, and future-state model development;
  • Lead technical discovery workshops to identify customer business objectives, operational challenges, workflow requirements, and transformation priorities, and map GV solutions to business outcomes;
  • Architect end-to-end solutions integrating GV AMPP, GV Media Universe (GVMU), and MAM platforms with customer production and newsroom systems;
  • Deliver compelling product demonstrations and proof-of-concept deployments at customer sites, partner facilities, and trade shows;
  • Develop solution narratives, architecture documents, produce Bills of Materials (BoMs), system design documentation, network architecture diagrams, and workflow visualizations;
  • Respond to Request for Inquiries (RFIs), Request for Proposals (RFPs), and Request for Quotes (RFQs) with technically rigorous, commercially aligned proposal documentation;
  • Collaborate with Strategic Sales Managers and additional stakeholders to shape account strategy, opportunity qualification, competitive positioning, and technical win plans;
  • Partner with Product Management and Engineering to relay customer requirements, competitive intelligence, and field insights;
  • Assist service delivery and technical support teams with escalations, system acceptance testing, and solution validation;
  • Maintain working knowledge of GV AMPP platform updates, roadmap direction, and integration ecosystem;
  • Manage demonstration systems, coordinate hardware logistics, and maintain operational readiness for field engagements;
  • Maintain awareness of evolving media technology trends including cloud production, content supply chains, AI-enabled workflows, newsroom modernization, orchestration, and IP-based media infrastructure.

Who you are
  • The ideal candidate understands that modern pre-sales extends beyond product demonstrations. You can act as a consultant, workflow architect, trusted advisor, and technical strategist who helps customers define and achieve meaningful business outcomes. You are comfortable engaging in both executive-level discussions and detailed technical design conversations, helping customers navigate the full journey from concept to implementation;
  • Bachelors or Advanced Degree Preferred relevant to the role or equivalent experience;
  • 5+ years' experience working within the broadcast and/or Media & Entertainment space, ideally within an international organization;
  • 3+ years' experience leading and/or working with the design, implementation, or consulting of applications and infrastructures supporting cloud-based workflows;

Cloud & Platform
  • Deep working knowledge of GV AMPP, including architecture, deployment models (cloud, hybrid, on-prem), and production workflow capabilities;
  • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) in broadcast or media production contexts;
  • Understanding of microservices-based media platforms, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and cloud networking concepts relevant to live and file-based media;

  • Experience designing or supporting news production environments including live switching, graphics, prompter, and playout integration;
  • Knowledge of wire services, Media Object Server (MOS) protocol, and the role of automation in modern news production.

  • Working knowledge of SMPTE ST 2110, PTP (IEEE 1588), NMOS IS-04/IS-05, and IP network architecture principles;
  • Ability to design integrated production solutions spanning video, audio, control, routing, graphics, and monitoring.

Customer & Communication Skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical and architectural concepts to both engineering teams and executive stakeholders; experienced in authoring RFP responses, solution briefs, and architecture documentation;
  • Strong presentation and demonstration skills, with experience adapting delivery style to varied audience types;
