Job Description

The Sports & Entertainment Analytics team is looking for a Senior Analyst who will leverage various data sources to develop insights, highlights, and forecasts in support of Versant Entertainment, with a focus on content for its four cable networks (E!, Oxygen, USA, and SYFY) across linear and digital platforms.

The person in this role will report directly to the Sr. Manager, Entertainment Analytics within the team’s Content Analytics group, and will work in support of Senior Leadership, Program Planning, Content, Marketing, Finance, and Press & Publicity.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about using data-driven insights to influence decision making in the Media industry. Along with strategic thinking, strong writing, and data visualization, they will be able to quickly learn, use, and draw insights from various research tools.  

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in all aspects of quantitative analysis across Versant’s cable entertainment portfolio, including E!, Oxygen, USA, and SYFY
  • Leverage various data sources (i.e., Nielsen, ComScore, Adobe) and collaborate with various teams to generate cross-platform insights for content across linear and streaming
  • Produce impactful regular reports around brand performance, content opportunities, viewing behavior, and landscape trends
  • Deliver strategic insights and recommendations via written memos and PowerPoint presentations for recurring and ad hoc requests across the portfolio
  • Track and measure content performance (viewership, reach, engagement, conversions, etc.) across different platforms, generating key metrics and reports to evaluate content effectiveness and opportunities.
  • Provide support in forecasting both network and program viewership during key estimate cycles
  • Experienced working with Nielsen Content Link (NCL) to maintain program line ups
  • Use tools like Tableau to automate reports and communicate KPIs to stakeholders.
  • Stay up to date on media and research industry news, trends and best practices
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of Media research experience at a broadcast or cable network, streaming service, agency, or vendor
  • 4-year bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Expertise working with Nielsen NPower (i.e., tracking, Reach & Frequency, Duplication, Segmentation)
  • Must be well versed in Microsoft Office applications with significant experience working with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience working with large data sets and visualization tools a plus (i.e., Tableau, Domo)
  • Strong quantitative skills, including both analytical abilities as well as math proficiency
  • Ability to identify, distill, and articulate clear and actionable brand stories, insights and recommendations from a variety of data points and sources
  • Passion for the television entertainment business and deep knowledge of the competitive media landscape

Other desirable skills:

  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and strong problem-solving abilities are crucial
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Willingness to learn new and emerging measurement sources (i.e., iSpot, TVision, VideoAmp)

Additional Information:

  • Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Subject to change based on business need. This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.

Salary range: $70,000 - $90,000
