Job Description

Versant Media is seeking a highly organized and operationally focused Manager, Sports Media Operations to support the day-to-day management, movement, storage, and preparation of non-live sports content across the organization. This role is ideal for a collaborative media operations professional with experience supporting content workflows, post-production operations, and media asset coordination in fast-paced sports, news, or entertainment environments.

The Manager will work closely with Sports Media Operations, Post Production, and Ingest/Storage teams to ensure reliable and efficient content workflows while supporting ongoing process improvements and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Content Management & Operations

  • Manage the day-to-day workflows supporting the ingest, movement, storage, editing, and delivery of non-live sports content.
  • Coordinate media asset handling across production and post-production environments to ensure timely and accurate content availability.
  • Support media lifecycle operations including ingest coordination, file transfers, editorial handoffs, archive requests, and content delivery.
  • Monitor workflow performance and escalate operational issues impacting production timelines or content accessibility.
  • Maintain operational documentation, workflow procedures, and best practices for media handling and asset management.

Workflow Support & Process Improvement

  • Support the ongoing optimization of non-live content workflows to improve operational efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
  • Partner with engineering, post-production, and storage teams to support the rollout and adoption of new tools, workflows, and operational processes.
  • Assist in evaluating workflow challenges and identifying opportunities for process improvements and operational streamlining.
  • Help maintain consistent and reliable workflows across edit platforms, cloud storage systems, and file transport technologies.
  • Stay informed on emerging media workflow technologies and operational trends relevant to sports production environments.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as a primary operational liaison between Sports Media Operations, Post Production, and Ingest/Storage teams to ensure smooth workflow coordination and communication.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand content priorities, production schedules, and delivery requirements.
  • Coordinate with technical and operational teams to resolve workflow issues and support production continuity.
  • Communicate workflow status, operational risks, and support needs to department leadership as needed.
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in media operations, content management, or post-production environments within sports, news, or entertainment organizations.
  • Strong understanding of non-live production and post-production workflows.
  • Experience supporting media workflows involving edit platforms, cloud or hybrid storage systems, and file transport technologies.
  • Familiarity with media asset management (MAM) systems and digital content workflows.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and support fast-paced production environments.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience supporting sports content operations or high-volume media environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based and remote post-production workflows.
  • Experience coordinating workflows across editorial, ingest, and storage teams.
  • Knowledge of media file delivery, archive operations, and content movement processes.
  • Experience with media workflow platforms and technologies such as Avid, Adobe, EVS, Dalet, Signiant, Aspera, or similar systems.
