SAP Business One Lead

USC/Green Card Holder | NO C2C

Full-time | Remote

Summary

We are seeking an SAP B1 Lead to join our client’s global IT organization. This individual will serve as the end-to-end owner of the SAP Business One environment, leading operational support, global governance, system enhancements, implementations, and long-term platform strategy across a multi-instance global landscape. This is a highly visible role that partners closely with business leadership, finance, audit, infrastructure, and third-party partners to ensure SAP B1 remains stable, scalable, compliant, and aligned with evolving business needs.

The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on SAP Business One experience combined with leadership capabilities across ERP operations, implementations, support governance, SOX / ITGC controls, and process improvement initiatives. This person will play a key role in driving operational maturity, strengthening support processes, improving global consistency, and helping shape the future roadmap of the SAP B1 platform across the organization.

Responsibilities

SAP Business One Operational Leadership

• Own the overall health, performance, stability, and support strategy for SAP Business One across all global instances.

• Serve as the primary escalation point for complex SAP B1 operational, functional, and integration issues.

• Lead SAP B1 support operations alongside internal resources and AMS / implementation partners, ensuring timely issue resolution and strong service delivery.

• Establish and maintain global documentation standards, support procedures, governance models, and knowledge management practices.

• Drive operational consistency, process standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives across the SAP B1 environment.

• Provide leadership and prioritization across support, project delivery, audit activities, and enhancement initiatives.

SOX, Audit, and IT General Controls

• Serve as the IT Control Owner for SAP Business One related controls and compliance activities.

• Maintain and support SOX compliant IT General Controls (ITGCs), including change management, access controls, security, and operational processes.

• Partner closely with internal audit and external auditors to support walkthroughs, testing, evidence requests, and remediation activities.

• Ensure ERP processes and configurations align with security standards, compliance requirements, and internal control frameworks.

• Train and guide team members on control execution responsibilities and audit readiness expectations.

Implementations, Enhancements, and Global Rollouts

• Lead SAP Business One implementations, upgrades, enhancements, and post go-live stabilization efforts.

• Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate operational needs into scalable ERP solutions.

• Manage relationships with third-party implementation partners and consultants, ensuring project quality, delivery standards, timelines, and scope expectations are met.

• Support global template governance while balancing regional operational and regulatory requirements.

• Identify opportunities for automation, process optimization, and operational efficiency improvements through SAP B1 enhancements.

Strategic Leadership and Business Partnership

• Act as a trusted advisor to business and IT leadership on SAP B1 capabilities, roadmap planning, and operational strategy.

• Establish and enforce ERP governance standards, support models, and best practices across the organization.

• Drive initiatives focused on reducing technical debt, improving user experience, increasing system maturity, and strengthening operational controls.

• Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, Audit, and IT teams to support long-term business objectives.

Metrics, Reporting, and Continuous Improvement

• Develop and monitor KPIs related to support operations, ticket management, audit readiness, system reliability, and service performance.

• Use reporting and trend analysis to improve operational efficiency, support effectiveness, and platform stability.

• Stay current on SAP Business One releases, patches, and industry best practices, assessing impacts and opportunities for improvement.

Leadership and Team Development

• Lead, mentor, and develop a growing SAP Business One support and delivery team.

• Define team responsibilities, support structures, escalation paths, and operational processes.

• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

• Support capability development across ERP operations, implementation support, audit controls, and SAP Business One functional expertise.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading and supporting SAP Business One in a global, multi-instance environment.

• Strong hands-on knowledge of SAP B1 modules, configurations, integrations, and ERP support operations.

• Experience leading ERP implementations, upgrades, enhancements, and third-party implementation partners.

• Strong understanding of SOX compliance, IT General Controls (ITGCs), audit support, and ERP governance processes.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex operational and technical issues.

• Experience working cross-functionally with IT, Finance, Audit, Operations, and business leadership teams.

• Demonstrated leadership experience mentoring or managing ERP support or functional teams.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills in fast-paced enterprise environments.

• Metrics-driven mindset with a focus on operational excellence, process improvement, and service delivery.
