What is a front door screener?

Front Door Screeners are staff members stationed at the entrances of facilities, such as hospitals, clinics, or businesses, to greet visitors and ensure safety protocols are followed. Their responsibilities often include checking identification, asking health screening questions, taking temperatures, and providing directions or information. Front Door Screeners play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment, especially during public health concerns like the COVID-19 pandemic. They help prevent the spread of illness and ensure that only authorized individuals enter the premises.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a front door screener?

To thrive as a Front Door Screener, you need strong observational skills, basic security knowledge, and often a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with visitor management systems and screening equipment such as thermometers or metal detectors is typically required. Screeners should remain calm, follow established procedures, and seek support from supervisors or security personnel if necessary to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
