Planet Technologies, the Nation's leading Microsoft services provider to the public sector, is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our growing team as an Azure Consultant. In this role, you will be supporting impactful projects that benefit our country.
 

The Azure Consultant is responsible for the scoping, assessing, planning, leading, designing, delivering, testing, and creating supporting technical documentation for the customer implementation projects, supporting, and migrating workloads to enterprise cloud platform solutions. The Azure Consultant possesses and maintains wide knowledge in Azure platforms and Entra ID and comparable or competing technologies utilizing that knowledge to inspire and inform customers, coworkers, and strategic partners.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Creates and applies process, creates and delivers documentation, and sets standards across multiple practice areas.
  • Demonstrate skills required to be the technical Lead and support customer projects.
  • Will have the ability to implement related technologies and understand their direct dependencies.
  • Ability to navigate new or unknown technical areas and quickly get up to speed to support customer requirements.
  • Professional with excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Must have the ability to proactively respond to internal/external questions and collaborate across internal/external teams.
  • Can solve problems efficiently in complex environments and suggest process improvement or standardization as requested and/or needed.
  • Demonstrates a proactive approach to help customers make critical decisions around features and capabilities and referring additional products or services within the specific areas of technical competence if needed for the customer.
  • Must possess the experience and knowledge to effectively articulate escalations and communicate progress to stakeholders, when needed.
Technical Abilities:
  • Will demonstrate ownership stake in the successful technical delivery of customer projects.
  • Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies with demonstrated hands-on experience in several of the following domains:
    • Azure Core Platform: Entra ID, Compute, AI, Storage, Data, Networking
      • Commercial, Government and Azure Secret
    • Deployment Automation such as Terraform
    • Multi-cloud or multi-tenancy experience
    • Microsoft Security technology stack experience and deep knowledge is highly desired.
    • Compliance experience such as NIST or CMMC frameworks
Essential Duties:
  • Owns technical deployment projects by providing oversight of involved technologies, risks and dependencies.
  • Maps technical requirements into actionable steps to deploy and hand over technical solutions.
  • Designs and deploys all facets of an Azure environment or a Microsoft Tenant.
  • Plans and executes end-to-end implementation and supports applicable migrations/deployments of target workloads.
  • Maintains above average understanding of existing and emerging Microsoft technologies.
  • Can be a liaison between the technology and customer requirements and communicate accordingly to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
