Job description

Join Mizuho as a Director of IHC Regulatory Reporting!

The ideal candidate is responsible for leading business analysis, change delivery, and platform enablement for the IHC's regulatory reporting framework. The role ensures that regulatory requirements are accurately interpreted, translated, and implemented within the Axiom regulatory reporting platform, supported by strong controls, data lineage, and governance.

This role acts as the primary bridge between Regulatory interpretation and reporting policy, Finance, Risk, Treasury, and data-producing functions. The emphasis is on requirements clarity, process integrity, data correctness, and sustainable delivery, executed using Agile methodologies in a highly regulated environment.

Responsibilities
  • Support interpretation of regulatory instructions, FAQs, and supervisory guidance to define report line definitions and calculation logic including dimensional requirements (counterparty, product, currency, maturity, etc.), aggregation, elimination, threshold, and rounding rules.
  • Translate business requirements into clear, testable functional requirements for Axiom implementation.
  • Maintain end to end traceability from Business requirements to functional specifications to Axiom logic to controls to report output.
  • Lead business analysis for regulatory reporting delivered through Axiom, including data sourcing and ingestion requirements, rule logic, adjustments, and calculation frameworks, report structure, hierarchies, and metadata configuration.
  • Define functional specifications for Axiom rules and mappings.
  • Drive data consistency across Axiom implementations to reduce manual overlays and EUCs.
Agile Delivery Leadership
  • Serve as Lead BA / Product Owner/Manager for regulatory reporting initiatives:
    • define epics, features, and user stories.
    • write acceptance criteria aligned to regulatory and control expectations.
    • prioritize backlog based on regulatory deadlines and risk.
  • Drive Agile ceremonies and outcomes:
    • sprint planning, refinement, demos, retrospectives.
    • dependency and release management across Finance, Risk, and Technology.
  • Balance Agile delivery with regulatory documentation and evidence requirements.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Deep understanding of IHC regulatory reporting frameworks, governance, and controls.
  • Strong grasp of financial consolidation, legal entity reporting, and regulatory data dependencies.
  • Handson experience delivering regulatory reporting using a regulatory reporting platform including data ingestion and mapping, rule configuration and calculations, report production and validation.
  • Requirements elicitation, documentation, and stakeholder facilitation.
  • Process modeling, gap analysis, and control design.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills in dataintensive environments.
  • Executivelevel communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to influence across Finance, Risk, and Technology without direct authority.

The expected base salary ranges from $160k-$185k. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
