Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented software engineer to join our team. As an AVP, you will work on strategic projects, support post-trade functions, and contribute to our product roadmap. Your role is crucial in driving our software development initiatives and collaborating with diverse teams to achieve our goals.
Responsibilities
  • Work on greenfield and brownfield projects in Post Trade Technology, supporting various post-trade functions and handling Business as Usual requests.
  • Propose improvements to development and support activities, ensuring efficient processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production system support issues, maintaining high system uptime.
  • Perform software maintenance and upgrades, ensuring the stability and performance of our systems.
  • Liaise with different teams to resolve dependencies and ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and QA, to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our software development processes.
  • Document and communicate technical designs, ensuring clear and concise documentation for future reference.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure high code quality.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, promoting open communication and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 5-7 years of experience in software development, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality solutions.
  • Proficiency in Java, SQL Server, Postgres, Angular, Spring, Docker, and Unix shell scripting.
  • Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka, JMS, and Solace is essential.
  • Familiarity with Gitlab source control, CI/CD, and DevOps practices is required.
  • Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) activities and best practices.
  • Experience with digital assets and technologies is desirable, but not mandatory.
  • Any experience with Test-Driven Development or Behavior Driven Development is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies, deployment, and design is a plus.
  • A strong aptitude for learning new technologies and a passion for staying updated with industry trends.
