Job Description: The Member Service Representative/Loan Officer position is responsible for providing quality and timely member services as well as promoting a high level of member satisfaction through assistance, education, and follow through, maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality at all times. Ensures the protection of the Credit Union's (CU) interests in matters of adequate documentation and adherence to Credit Union policy and various laws and regulations. Responsible for exercises sound credit decisions within specified limits and referring loan applications outside those limits to underwriting or committee for approval. Backs-up other CU positions.

  • Business Development – Prepares oral presentations of credit union loans and deposit products to employee groups, both members and nonmembers, for the purpose of creating a higher awareness of the Credit Union's benefits.
  • Loan Origination – MSR/LO Executes consumer and personal loan processes independently. LO Originates secondary mortgage loan applications to produce accurate good faith estimates as a part of a team under general direction and guidance.
  • Credit Analysis - The LO is responsible for determining application and disclosure schedule and documentation, AVM/Appraisal review, Title, Flood, and resolution of irregularities.

The Credit Union Member Service Representative/Loan Officer position is scheduled to work 30 hours per week. Typical operating hours for the Credit Union are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Requirements: Member Service Representative (MSR):

  • Minimum of 2 years of professionally related experience or 1 year directly related experience in a Credit Union or financial institution is preferred.
  • Associate's Degree is preferred
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Past experience should demonstrate the ability to excel in a dynamic, collaborative, team environment.
  • The individual must be "bondable" as a financial institution employee.
  • Must have the ability to obtain a National Mortgage License Service is preferred.
  • Experience in opening new accounts, debit card processing or ACH processing is preferred.
  • Experience in originating, processing, or funding consumer loans preferred.
  • Knowledge of lien perfection, accounting, marketing, or collections is preferred
Hiring Range: $22.31 to $28.34 per hour

Loan Officer (LO) I:

  • Knowledgeable in completing consumer loans and can perform the task independently.
  • Minimum of 2 years of loan origination experience and a demonstrated understanding of loan underwriting process.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Past experience should demonstrate the ability to excel in a dynamic, collaborative, team environment.
  • The individual must be "bondable" as a financial institution employee.
  • Must have the ability to obtain a National Mortgage License Service (NMLS) within 90 days.
  • Associate's Degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance preferred.
Hiring Range: $25.28 to $32.35 per hour

This position requires an in-person presence to support team and on-site responsibilities.
