Job description

Position Summary:
Experienced Veterinary Assistant supports veterinarians and veterinary technicians by providing compassionate patient care, assisting with medical procedures, maintaining a clean and organized hospital environment, and ensuring excellent client service. This position requires strong clinical skills, teamwork, professionalism, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced veterinary hospital.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience.
  • Able to administer vaccines , oral meds, SQ / IV / IM injections.
  • IV catheter placement.
  • Venipunctures.
  • Monitor anesthesia.
  • Perform basic in house laboratory such as bloodwork, SNAP tests.
  • Able to obtain quick and thorough history from owners.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records, including treatments, procedures, and observations.
  • Communicate professionally with pet owners regarding patient care, medication administration, and veterinarian recommendations.
  • Prepare treatment plans and cost estimates based on the veterinarian's recommendations.

Preferred:
  • Experience in general practice, urgent care, or emergency medicine.
  • Fear Free® certification (not required but preferred).
  • CPR/RECOVER certification. (not required but preferred).
  • Experience with AVImark and IDEXX. ( we can always teach you).
