Job description

ABOUT THE ROLE

Aerowave Technologies is seeking a Security Solutions Specialist to serve as our on-the-ground expert in enterprise video surveillance deployments. You will be the technical backbone of our security practice - bridging pre-sales design with real-world installation outcomes - with a primary focus on Avigilon-based solutions.

This role is ideal for someone who is equally comfortable walking a rooftop to document camera sightlines as they are sitting across from a client explaining system architecture. You will work closely with our sales, project management, and engineering teams to deliver solutions that are accurate in scope, sound in design, and successful in the field.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Avigilon Subject Matter Expertise

  • Serve as the internal and client-facing SME for Avigilon hardware, software, and analytics - spanning Unity Video, Unity Access Control, Avigilon Alta Video, and Avigilon Alta cloud-managed solutions.
  • Stay current on platform capabilities, licensing models, AI appliances, and roadmap updates across the full Avigilon and Alta product portfolio.
  • Provide technical guidance to sales and project teams throughout the sales cycle and deployment lifecycle.

Site Surveys & Field Documentation

  • Conduct on-site surveys to assess existing infrastructure, network topology, physical layout, and customer requirements.
  • Produce clear, detailed field documentation including camera placement diagrams, cable run notes, and infrastructure findings.
  • Identify site-specific challenges (lighting, mounting constraints, network limitations) and document recommended solutions.

First-Pass Designs & Scope of Work

  • Translate survey findings and client requirements into initial system designs, including camera selection, server sizing, and storage calculations.
  • Author first-pass Scope of Work documents covering equipment, labor, assumptions, and exclusions.
  • Collaborate with sales engineering leads to validate designs prior to proposal submission.

Install Support & Commissioning Assistance

  • Provide on-site and remote technical support during system installations and commissioning phases.
  • Assist installation crews with device configuration, VMS setup, network integration, and analytics enablement.
  • Ensure commissioned systems meet design intent and client acceptance criteria before project closeout.

Troubleshooting & Issue Triage

  • Serve as first-line technical escalation for field issues during and after deployment.
  • Diagnose and triage problems related to camera connectivity, access control hardware and software, VMS performance, storage, and analytics functionality.
  • Document issue findings and resolutions to support knowledge base development and recurring-issue prevention.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Avigilon certifications (e.g., Avigilon Certified Integration Specialist or equivalent).
  • 3+ years of hands on experience with installing and troubleshooting IP video surveillance systems.
  • Direct experience with designing and installing Avigilon hardware and the Unity Video (formerly ACC) platform.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and produce technical drawings, network diagrams, and scopes of work.
  • Strong communication skills; able to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Willingness to travel locally and regionally for site visits, installations, and customer meetings.
  • Texas DPS Certification.

Preferred

  • Experience with enterprise network fundamentals (VLANs, PoE infrastructure, bandwidth planning).
  • Background supporting K–12, municipal, or large enterprise surveillance deployments.
  • Familiarity with complementary security platforms (access control, intercoms, video analytics).
  • Low-voltage licensing (ESA / state-specific) is a plus.

WHY AEROWAVE TECHNOLOGIES

  • Work on meaningful, large-scale deployments with real community impact.
  • Collaborative team culture with clear paths to senior technical and solutions architect roles.
  • Competitive compensation, benefits, and ongoing manufacturer training & certification support.
  • Trusted Avigilon partner with an established portfolio of enterprise and public-sector clients.
  • Core Values: Client Is Our North Star, Win Together, Constant Improvement, Deliver Solutions Not
  • Our vision is to connect 75,000 lives in 10 years, over 10x the number of lives we connected in 2021. We connect lives through technology solutions in the following verticals: Two-Way Radio Surveillance and Access Control Bi-Directional Amplifiers/Distributed Antenna Systems Vehicle Safety Dispatch Consoles.
