Job description

100% Remote
The Security Designer will be part of our national IES Design Branch and will be highly skilled in designing advanced professional CCTV, access control, and intrusion detection solutions, as well as other security systems, in the commercial security integration industry. The role involves providing consulting and design services for technology-enhanced spaces. The designer will actively participate in the design process for multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and the delivery of top-quality work to our clients.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Contribute as a key member of the project design team, bringing a significant level of expertise in Security systems and related design elements, with a forward-thinking perspective
  2. Engage in design meetings with our clients to determine project goals and requirements
  3. Develop Security systems recommendations
  4. Work collaboratively with the CAD/BIM Staff to develop high-quality Security infrastructure construction drawings, details, and systems drawings
  5. Review submittals of shop drawings, coordinating with architects, contractors, engineers, and other consultants
  6. The Security Designer will be responsible for reviewing intake forms or site surveys, designing customer solutions based on requirements, and producing documentation suitable for system installation, and control system programming scopes.
  7. The Security Designer must be able to produce advanced Security designs including system line diagrams, for CCTV, access control and intrusion systems.
  8. The Security Designer must have the ability to read architectural, mechanical, and electrical (MEP) drawing sets.
  9. The Security Designer must have experience designing with the latest Security products including but not limited to Avigilon, Bosch, Genetec, Honeywell, etc.

    11. The Security Designer will communicate and coordinate technical design solutions with clients, installation teams, and vendors.
    12. The Security Designer will provide operational team staff with high-end technical support on both a pre- and post-design efforts.
    13. The Security Designer will contribute to the design review and code review as required.
    14. The Security Designer will develop and maintain knowledge of current, and new technologies that the company offers
    15. Ensure that all work is completed on-time, in-budget, and consistently within IES's high standards of quality
    16. The Security Designer will act as a liaison and meet with sales, project management, and operations when the project is handed over for installation. They will also ensure that the sales price aligns with the actual installation costs.

    Other responsibilities as assigned.
