Familiarity with AVID methodologies, collaborative learning tools, and educational technology platforms like Google Classroom is important. Strong communication, patience, and the ability to facilitate group discussions are standout soft skills for this role. How does an AVID Tutor typically collaborate with teachers and students to support academic success?

Their main role is to guide students through collaborative study groups, helping them develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills. AVID Tutors use inquiry-based methods to encourage students to find solutions themselves, rather than simply providing answers. They also serve as mentors and role models, supporting students as they prepare for college and future careers.
