Reports to: Director of Projects


The Aviation Project Manager ensures the successful delivery of aviation security and baggage handling system projects that meet client objectives, regulatory requirements, and VTCโ€™s gold-standard of quality. This role drives results by aligning project teams, managing stakeholder expectations, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.


Key Outcomes

  • Client Partnership: Build trusted, long-term relationships with airport, airline, and TSA clients by anticipating needs, communicating clearly, and translating complex technical requirements into actionable project strategies.
  • Project Delivery Excellence: Lead cross-disciplinary teams to deliver projects that meet contractual obligations and performance standards, resulting in systems that operate reliably, efficiently, and safely.
  • Financial Stewardship: Manage project budgets and schedules proactively, ensuring profitability targets are met while maintaining compliance with FAR and client requirements.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks early, implement mitigation strategies, and maintain rigorous quality standards that reduce rework and strengthen client confidence.
  • Quality: Ensure quality is embedded throughout every phase of design and delivery, upholding the VTCโ€™s gold-standard and reducing rework.

Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent project leadership experience).
  • 5+ years of demonstrated project management success in design, construction, or aviation environments.
  • Familiarity with Baggage Handling Systems (BHS), CBIS, and passenger checkpoint projects preferred.
  • PMP certification is desirable.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain airport SIDA badge.
