CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Civil Site Engineer – Aviation to join our Aviation Team in Coral Springs, FL or Miami, FL. In this role, you’ll play a key part in the design and development of airside and landside projects, partnering with experienced professionals to deliver innovative, integrated solutions that elevate safety and efficiency. This is your opportunity to grow your technical capabilities while contributing to infrastructure that connects communities and powers travel.

Civil site engineers are encouraged to apply. We welcome candidates with backgrounds in land development, municipal engineering, transportation, roadway, and other civil infrastructure disciplines who are interested in applying their expertise to aviation projects. Previous aviation experience is preferred but not required.


  • Support the design of civil engineering projects from concept through construction under the guidance of experienced engineers
  • Assist with developing preliminary site layouts, grading, drainage, utility, pavement, and infrastructure designs while preparing engineering calculations, technical reports, and specifications
  • Participate in the design of aviation infrastructure projects, including airfields, terminals, roadways, parking areas, and support facilities
  • Assist with engineering analyses and support identifying and resolving technical issues while ensuring designs align with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in field visits and construction observations to gain practical project experience
  • Develop familiarity with FAA, state, and local aviation design standards and assist in applying regulatory requirements
  • Perform periodic field observations during construction to document project progress, verify work generally conforms to design plans and specifications, review erosion and sediment control measures, and communicate observations to the project team
  • Support construction administration activities by preparing field reports, documenting site conditions with photographs, attending progress meetings, tracking installed quantities, and coordinating with contractors, clients, and project managers throughout construction

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required
  • Minimum of 2 years of related engineering experience in site development, land development, transportation, municipal infrastructure, water resources, aviation, or a related discipline required
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred
  • Familiarity with grading, drainage, utility, roadway, pavement, or site design principles
  • Strong theoretical knowledge and willingness to learn within the engineering discipline
  • Strong knowledge of engineering software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Desire to learn aviation engineering and work on complex infrastructure projects
  • Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred
