What is an aviation finance internship?

An Aviation Finance Internship is a temporary position that allows students or recent graduates to gain practical experience in the financial aspects of the aviation industry. Interns typically work with airlines, aircraft manufacturers, or leasing companies, assisting with tasks like financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reviewing investment opportunities. The internship provides valuable insights into how aviation businesses manage their finances and make strategic decisions. It is an excellent opportunity to develop industry-specific skills and build a professional network. Most internships last a few months and may lead to full-time job opportunities in aviation finance.

What types of projects or tasks does an aviation finance intern typically work on during their internship?

Aviation Finance Interns often support teams by assisting with financial modeling, analyzing aircraft leasing agreements, preparing reports on airline industry trends, and conducting market research on aviation assets. Interns may also participate in budgeting exercises, help review transactional documents, and collaborate with analysts and managers on ongoing deals. This hands-on exposure provides a comprehensive view of both the financial and operational aspects of the aviation industry, and interns are encouraged to take initiative and contribute ideas during team meetings.

To thrive as an Aviation Finance Intern, you need a solid foundation in finance or accounting principles, typically gained through a relevant degree program or coursework.
