Responsibilities:
The Senior Telecommunications Engineer supports a major enterprise migration from a legacy Avaya CS1000 / Session Manager environment with AudioCodes SBCs to a multi-cluster Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Unity Connection, and Contact Center environment, supporting approximately 14,000 endpoints across the organization.
  • Participates in high complexity planning and scheduling to establish deadlines and ensure the timely completion of several independent, complex tasks and short term projects. May organize, assign and schedule group tasks.
  • Provides advanced technical expertise and assistance and guidance for problem resolution, system transitions, migrations, project support engineering, and consolidations. Assists other telecom engineers with escalations.
  • Configures voice mail system to conform with system design requirements. Responds to the most complex of incidents and is the ultimate problem solver including escalation and resolution with external vendors.
  • Configures complex telephone system technology to conform with system design requirements. Responds to the most complex of incidents and is the ultimate problem solver including escalation and resolution with external vendors. Is seen as the subject matter expert on telephony systems architecture and power structure. Makes decisions related to system maintenance routines, and obtains all system patches. Is the expert on carrier services and their deployment within the Telephone system application. Is responsible for monitoring traffic reporting system and capacity planning, assuring that appropriate levels of carrier and other services meet the demands at each facility.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor s degree in related technical/business area plus 4 years of IT or business experience. 6 years of additional experience can be substituted in lieu of degree. Requires advanced knowledge of business practices and procedures in order to perform non-repetitive, analytical work. Uses a wide application of principles, theories, concepts and draws on previous experience to determine an appropriate course of action
