Position Summary

The Avaya Solution Consultant & Strategic Client Advisor is a customer-facing position combining Avaya presales solution design with strategic client advisory responsibilities.

This role supports the sales process by translating customer requirements into accurate Avaya solution designs, configurations, licensing requirements, and Bills of Materials (BOMs). The consultant will utilize Avaya design, configuration, and licensing tools to develop and validate solutions supporting new deployments, upgrades, expansions, migrations, and modernization initiatives.

In the Strategic Client Advisor capacity, this individual will build trusted relationships with assigned clients, develop an understanding of their technology and customer experience environments, and help identify opportunities for optimization and modernization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide presales technical consulting for Avaya solutions.
  • Develop Avaya solution designs based on customer business and technical requirements.
  • Utilize Avaya design, configuration, quoting, and licensing tools.
  • Develop and validate solution configurations, licensing requirements, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Support new Avaya deployments, upgrades, expansions, migrations, and modernization initiatives.
  • Partner with sales teams throughout discovery, design, proposal development, and customer presentations.
  • Present solution designs and recommendations to technical and business stakeholders.
  • Serve as a Strategic Client Advisor for assigned customers.
  • Develop an understanding of each client's existing technology environment, business priorities, and CX objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize or modernize client communications and customer experience environments.
  • Develop strategic recommendations and technology roadmaps.
  • Coordinate with sales, engineering, delivery, project management, and vendor teams to ensure proposed solutions are technically and commercially viable.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Avaya products, architectures, licensing models, and design tools.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience with Avaya technologies in a solution consulting, sales engineering, presales engineering, or similar capacity.
  • Hands-on experience designing and configuring Avaya solutions in a presales environment.
  • Experience using Avaya design, configuration, and licensing tools.
  • Experience developing or validating Avaya Bills of Materials and licensing requirements.
  • Experience supporting customer discovery and translating requirements into solution designs.
  • Experience presenting technical solutions directly to customers.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise communications and/or contact center technologies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple customer opportunities and priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing both Avaya Contact Center and Unified Communications solutions.
  • Experience with Avaya migrations, upgrades, and modernization initiatives.
  • Experience working with enterprise or complex multi-site Avaya environments.
  • Experience advising customers on broader Contact Center, CX, CCaaS, or communications strategies.
  • Previous experience serving as a trusted technical or strategic advisor for enterprise clients.

Additional Requirements

  • Relevant Avaya certifications or advanced Avaya technical training.
  • Availability to work flexible hours as needed.
