Nature of work
This position is responsible for property security and the protection and safeguarding of guests and employees. Hours for this position fluctuate depending upon arena event schedule, so the ability to work flexible hours is mandatory.
Examples of work performed
  • Responsible for facility security: Access Control, CCTV monitoring, patrolling of KSE properties to include parking lots, traffic control, incident response, safety and emergency procedure response.
  • Patrols Dick's Sporting Goods Park; reports all safety and/or security concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Provides access control for the facility through post requirements and building access control system.
  • Monitors Closed Circuit Camera system and Weather applications; reports all safety and/or Security concerns to appropriate personnel. Activates weather protocols.
  • Performs emergency response to fire alarms, evacuations, and other situations; is trained on and maintains proficiency regarding emergency response.
  • Provides initial investigation with documentation and provides follow-up on incidents including, but not limited to, building damage, injury to patron or employee, criminal activity and policy/procedure violations.
  • Performs functions as directed to establish a safe and efficient environment for building staff and guests.
  • Provides customer service to guests and employees of facility.
  • Provides logistical support of vehicles and freight for multiple vendors and events.
  • Handles complaints, disturbances or related problems with the public, staff or promoters.
  • Participates in internal and external training programs for regular and part-time employees.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands
  • Capable of sitting, standing stationary or walking for up to 8 hours per shift with some bending, stooping and stretching.
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity enough to handle paperwork and mail, and to operate a keyboard, telephone, mobile device, handheld metal detector wand, flashlight, two-way radio, and other office equipment.
  • Occasionally lifting items weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to hear a phone, a two-way radio, audible alarms and verbal communications in a moderate to loud environment.
  • Tolerance for moderate to loud event noises.
  • Working outside in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, rain) from time to time.
  • Comfortability being near heavy vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
  • Working conditions and physical demands listed are not all inclusive and subject to change.

Qualifications
  • Minimum
    • High School Diploma or GED
    • One to two years' experience in security operations, preferably in a large arena or sports facility.
    • Valid Driver's License

Competencies/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, orally and in writing, with customers, visitors and other employees at all levels.
  • Ability to exercise proper action and attitude in handling incidents and demands of the entertainment environment.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills and diplomacy.
  • Works well with others; establishing and maintaining effective relationships with fellow coworkers and supervisors.
  • Presents a clean, neat professional appearance.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret written and verbal instructions and reports.
  • Knowledge of general security functions and arena facility operations highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of CCTV and Access control systems.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a merchant guard license from the City of Denver
  • Ability to acquire or produce and maintain a Valid Colorado Driver's license and meet company vehicle driving standards

Compensation
Based on qualifications and experience.
