SCHEDULE:Variable; 2-hour early morning shifts, up to five days per week

Located beneath the Snowbird Center ski bridge, Seven Summits is built for passionate skiers and riders who value early access, expert guidance, and deeper connections to the mountain experience.

SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Director of Mountain Operations and the Director of Ski Patrol, the Seven Summits Guide delivers Snowbird's exclusive First Tracks experience by leading private guided skiing and snowboarding before the resort opens to the public.

This position requires advanced mountain awareness and a comprehensive understanding of Snowbird's operational environment, including avalanche mitigation activities, ski patrol movements, terrain management, and emergency response procedures. Successful guides serve as trusted advisors who prioritize member safety while building lasting relationships through humility, professionalism, exceptional service, and a genuine passion for the Snowbird community. This is not a traditional guiding role. It is an opportunity to become a valued part of a close-knit membership experience built on trust, expertise, and authentic connection.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Maintain group awareness, cohesion, and safety while skiing or riding in a variety of terrain, snow, visibility, and weather conditions.
• Assess member ability levels, comfort, and changing mountain conditions to make sound decisions throughout each experience.
• Provide hands-on assistance and support to members as needed to ensure a seamless mountain experience.
• Communicate effectively with fellow guides, Hidden Peak Ski Patrol Dispatch, Mountain Operations, and avalanche control teams via radio and in-person coordination.
• Apply and uphold the Skier Responsibility Code, Snowbird policies, and all mountain safety protocols.
• Share knowledge of mountain conditions, terrain, operations, and resort offerings to enhance the member experience.
• Build positive relationships with members while maintaining a professional, service-oriented, and discreet presence.
• Support special events and other Seven Summits member programming as assigned.
• Promote awareness of Snowbird products, services, and experiences that complement the member experience.
• Monitor member well-being throughout the experience and respond appropriately to injuries, illness, or emergencies.
• Assess injured or ill guests, communicate accurate observations, signs, symptoms, and scene information to Ski Patrol Dispatch, and assist with emergency response coordination until additional resources arrive.
• Maintain awareness of avalanche mitigation activities, terrain closures, and mountain operations to ensure safe route selection and informed decision-making.
• Educate members about mountain operations, including avalanche control work, terrain management, and ski patrol activities, when appropriate.
• Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and relationship-focused environment that reflects the values of the Seven Summits community and encourages long-term member engagement.

WHAT YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE

• Expert-level skiing or snowboarding ability with the confidence to navigate all Snowbird terrain and snow conditions safely and efficiently.
• Extensive knowledge of Snowbird terrain, lift systems, mountain operations, closures, weather impacts, and access routes.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Snowbird Ski Instructor, Ski Patroller, or in a similarly qualified mountain operations role.
• Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional guest service to high-end clientele.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Strong judgment, situational awareness, and risk-management abilities.
• Ability to remain calm, professional, and adaptable in changing mountain environments.
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification required. Advanced medical training is strongly preferred. Candidates with current or previous Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC), Wilderness First Responder (WFR), Wilderness EMT (WEMT), EMT, or similar certifications will receive strong consideration.
• Demonstrated ability to assess injured or ill individuals and clearly communicate patient conditions, signs, symptoms, and situational details to emergency responders and dispatch personnel.
• A thorough understanding of Snowbird's avalanche control routes, terrain management practices, ski patrol operations, mountain terminology, and radio communications.
• Ability to interpret and communicate mountain operations information, including avalanche mitigation activities, route work, terrain closures, and patrol movements, in a manner that enhances member understanding and confidence.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for building relationships and creating a welcoming, community-oriented experience for members.
• Humble, team-oriented approach with maturity and emotional intelligence to build trust, work collaboratively, and represent the Seven Summits culture professionally.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Reliable transportation and the ability to travel through Little Cottonwood Canyon during early morning hours and winter weather conditions, including periods of avalanche mitigation activity.

WORK SCHEDULE

• Variable schedule based on operational needs, weather conditions, and member participation.
• Typical guiding window: 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., with occasional extended shifts as required.
• Weekend and holiday availability is required.
