Characteristic Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership across all portfolio units by partnering withauxiliaryunit managersto set performance expectations and strategic goals, while driving innovation, modernization, and operational efficiency in support of the College's mission and strategic direction.
  • Monitortherevenue,expensesand financial performance of theauxiliaryservices,staffingandoperatingand capitalbudgets. Developbusiness plans and financial projections; ensureappropriate internalcontrols and riskmanagement. Overseedaily operations of auxiliary unitsandestablishperformance metrics and service standards.
  • Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration among auxiliary units and key campus partnersincluding Facilities, Library and Information Technology Services,andthe Undergraduate College Division to promote communication, creative problem-solving, and seamless operations.
  • Ensurehighqualitycustomer service.Leadimprovementeffortstoenhanceprocesses and strengthenservice deliveryandpromote a culture of service excellence.
  • Identifyand strengthen opportunities for collaboration with Haverford College and Swarthmore College by evaluating current partnerships andfacilitatingimprovementsas necessary.

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will be a collaborative and effective leader with a strong record of success in auxiliary services and project management, preferably within higher education or a comparable nonprofit environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, hospitality management, higher education administration, or related fieldrequired.Master's degree inrelated fields preferred.
  • Minimumseven years of progressively responsibleoperationsexperience.
  • Demonstrated experiencedeveloping,leading, andengaginghigh-performing teams.
  • Experience in higher education auxiliary services and managing service providers preferred.
  • Experiencemeeting revenue targets,managingbudgetsandoverseeing programimplementation.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively, foster collaboration, and build trust with team members, faculty, staff, and students, and campus visitors.
  • Successful completion of satisfactory background checks.
