Kerner’s Auto Service is a family-owned, full-service independent automotive repair facility serving the community since 1973. We are a busy, high-volume shop with a strong reputation for professionalism, quality repairs, organization, and exceptional customer service.

We are seeking a dependable, self-motivated Shop Porter to help maintain the cleanliness, organization, and day-to-day support needs of our facility.

The Position

This is a hands-on support position for someone who takes pride in keeping things clean, organized, stocked, and running smoothly. The ideal candidate notices what needs attention and takes care of it without requiring constant direction.

Primary responsibilities include:

Maintaining daily cleanliness and organization throughout the shop

Performing routine housekeeping duties in work areas and common areas

Keeping floors, workspaces, storage areas, and shop support areas clean and orderly

Maintaining cleanliness of customer vehicles when needed

Cleaning and maintaining company courtesy loaner vehicles

Transporting customers to and from local destinations

Picking up and delivering automotive parts and supplies

Assisting with inventory counts, organization, and restocking

Monitoring commonly used shop supplies and helping ensure proper stock levels

Assisting with receiving, moving, and organizing parts and deliveries

Helping maintain exterior areas and overall facility appearance

Supporting technicians, service advisors, and management with general operational needs

Assisting with other duties throughout the shop as needed

Preferred Experience

Previous porter experience at an automotive repair facility or dealership is strongly preferred

Requirements

Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

Ability to safely drive a variety of vehicles

Ability to perform physical tasks including walking, standing, lifting, cleaning, and moving supplies throughout the workday
