Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Service Advisor / Writer to join our automotive service team. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers bringing their vehicles in for maintenance and repairs. Your energetic approach will ensure a positive experience by accurately assessing vehicle needs, communicating effectively with customers, and coordinating with technicians to deliver exceptional service. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your automotive knowledge, sales skills, and passion for helping customers keep their vehicles running smoothly. You will play a key role in driving customer satisfaction, fostering loyalty, and supporting the overall success of our auto and diesel repair business.

Duties

  • Greet customers warmly and professionally, establishing trust and rapport from the first interaction
  • Listen carefully to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle issues and service requests
  • Provide detailed estimates for repairs such as oil changes, brake repairs, transmissions, alignments, suspension work, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, auto engine repairs, and general auto repairs
  • Upsell additional services or maintenance based on vehicle diagnostics and mechanical knowledge to enhance customer value and overall repair shop revenue
  • Coordinate with service technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of work
  • Maintain clear communication with customers throughout the service process, explaining repair procedures and costs transparently
  • Handle cash transactions accurately while managing service write-up documentation and repair orders
  • Leverage customer service experience and automotive diagnostics skills to recommend appropriate solutions for vehicle maintenance or repair needs
  • Stay informed about current automotive repair techniques, parts availability, and industry standards to provide expert guidance
  • Promote automotive sales opportunities when appropriate by understanding customer needs and vehicle features

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a dealership environment or auto service management role
  • Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and vehicle maintenance procedures
