The Service Technician is a skilled professional responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing all types of automotive problems. You'll be the heart of the service department, using your technical expertise and problem-solving skills to ensure vehicles are running smoothly and safely.
Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose vehicle malfunctions using diagnostic tools (scanners, multimeters, pressure gauges, etc.)
  • Inspect engine, transmission, brakes, electrical, and other vehicle systems
  • Prepare repair plans with cost estimates and obtain customer authorization before starting work
  • Repair and replace faulty components per manufacturer specifications and service manuals
  • Test completed repairs to confirm functionality and safety
  • Document all repairs and parts used on service orders
  • Communicate technical issues clearly and professionally to customers
  • Provide accurate repair estimates and timelines; keep customers updated throughout the process
  • Stay current on automotive technologies and repair procedures through ongoing training and certifications
  • Perform maintenance and repairs ranging from routine services to complex engine or transmission overhauls
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Conduct test drives to evaluate vehicle performance as needed

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Service Technician or related automotive repair experience. Completion of an automotive technician training program or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Certifications: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications is a strong plus.
  • Strong understanding of automotive systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Manual dexterity and the ability to perform physical tasks (lifting, bending, reaching).
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
