Job description

Overview : 

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field. Minimum 7+ years of experience in automotive embedded hardware development and electronic product design environments. 
  • This position is focused on the design, development, validation, and launch of embedded electronic hardware supporting automotive seating, comfort, actuator, motor, and interior system applications. 
  • The engineer will lead hardware development activities from requirements analysis and hardware architecture through schematic design, PCB development, validation, and production launch. This is a hands-on engineering position requiring active involvement in product design activities, not solely testing or validation support. 
  • The role will work closely with Systems, Software, Mechanical, Validation, Manufacturing, and Customer teams to deliver reliable automotive products that meet customer, quality, timing, and cost objectives. 
  • This position requires strong technical ownership, excellent communication skills, automotive development experience, and the ability to support programs throughout the complete product lifecycle.
  • Full-time onsite presence is required.  

Key Responsibilities :

Requirements Analysis & Traceability 

  • Analyze customer and system requirements using ALM tools such as Codebeamer 
  • Translate requirements into hardware architecture, design solutions, verification, and validation criteria 
  • Support requirements traceability throughout the development lifecycle 
  • Participate in requirements reviews and technical discussions 

Electronic Hardware Design & Development 

  • Design and develop automotive embedded electronic hardware solutions 
  • Create and review schematics, component selection, circuit design, and PCB development activities 
  • Support hardware architecture development and design reviews 
  • Contribute to prototype development and product maturation activities 
  • Support component, symbol, and footprint library management activities 

Engineering Analysis, Validation & Compliance 

  • Perform engineering analysis including WCCA, thermal analysis, electrical simulations, and EMC considerations 
  • Support verification and validation activities throughout product development 
  • Troubleshoot hardware issues and support root cause investigations 
  • Ensure compliance with automotive, customer, and regulatory requirements 

Automotive Product Development & Launch Support 

  • Support programs from concept through production launch 
  • Participate in customer reviews and program milestone activities 
  • Support OEM and Tier 1 product development requirements 
  • Ensure hardware solutions meet quality, performance, reliability, and timing objectives 

Technical Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to hardware team members 
  • Collaborate with Systems, Software, Mechanical, Quality, Validation, and Manufacturing teams 
  • Clearly communicate technical concepts, risks, and recommendations 
  • Actively participate in customer-facing technical discussions 

Design for Excellence (DFX) 

  • Apply DFM, DFA, DFC, DFT, and DFR principles throughout development 
  • Ensure products are designed for manufacturability, reliability, quality, and cost efficiency  

Profile:  

  • Hands-on Hardware Design Engineer with strong automotive electronics experience

Must Have:  

  • 7+ years of automotive embedded hardware development experience 
  • Strong experience with schematic design and electronic hardware development 
  • Experience supporting PCB layout and hardware design activities 
  • Experience with WCCA, engineering calculations, and hardware simulations 
  • Experience designing for EMC and supporting EMC validation activities 
  • Experience with CAN and LIN communication integration 
  • Experience supporting automotive OEM or Tier 1 development programs 
  • Experience with requirements management and requirements traceability 
  • Strong communication, presentation, and technical leadership skills 
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering
