We are looking for a dynamic, hands-on Technology leader to design and deliver a variety of crypto-related products. This unique role offers the chance to lead global greenfield projects that will impact millions of users every day.
The right candidate should have proven experience implementing PIX from zero to production in another bank, fintech, payment institution, or processor; Own regulatory/compliance ownership (Brazil payment regulations); in simpler term: Built Pix integration + BCB interaction.
This role is 100% remote (Work from Home), based in Brazil. Fluency in Portuguese and English is a must to liaise with Brazil central banks and regulators.
Responsibilities:
  • Own the architecture, design, and implementation of fintech and payment institution platforms, including real-time payment systems, ledger services, reconciliation platforms, and core payment flows.
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of critical payment capabilities from architecture design through production launch and operational ownership.
  • Drive technical decisions around system resilience, security, scalability, availability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Design reliable payment workflows with strong transaction consistency, idempotency, failure handling, and recovery mechanisms.
  • Build and evolve financial ledger systems ensuring accuracy, auditability, and consistency across orchestration, transaction processing, settlement, and reconciliation.
  • Write, review, and troubleshoot production-grade Java (Spring Boot) services for mission-critical payment systems.
  • Establish engineering best practices including observability, incident response, operational readiness, and production excellence.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, Risk, Compliance, Operations, and business stakeholders.
  • Serve as the technical representative in discussions with Banco Central do Brasil (BACEN) and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Lead regulatory certification activities, prepare technical documentation and evidence for audits, and respond to regulatory requirements.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, with demonstrated technical leadership in designing and delivering large-scale, mission-critical systems.
  • Must have: Proven experience building or integrating real-time payment systems (Pix) from design to production within a bank, fintech, payment institution, or payment processor.
  • Hands-on experience with Pix implementation, including architecture design, certification/homologation, production rollout, and operational ownership.
  • Experience working directly with Banco Central do Brasil (BACEN) or equivalent financial regulators is highly preferred.
  • Strong expertise in Java (Spring Boot), distributed systems, APIs, integrations, and high-availability backend architectures.
  • Deep understanding of payment domain concepts including transaction lifecycle, ledger systems, settlement, reconciliation, and financial data consistency.
  • Experience operating systems in regulated, security-sensitive, and mission-critical environments.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to lead technical discussions across engineering, business, compliance, and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Professional fluency in Portuguese and English.
