GENERAL SUMMARY
Perform layout, final inspection, first-piece approval and CMM of prototype stampings, fixtures and check-aids to ensure they meet customer requirements.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Perform quality inspections for fixtures, check-aids, and parts. (when necessary)

Perform plate layouts. (when necessary)Conduct first-piece approvals (when necessary)Calibrate equipment as required. (when necessary)Operate gauges and testing equipment with dexterity and precision.Assist in the training and development of associates in the department.Track and manage any QOS measures assigned [Annual calibrations, Gauge R's, PDCA list].Understand housekeeping requirements and maintain a clean and orderly work areaBe safety conscious and understand all potential safety hazards in work environment.Practice and promote safe work practices throughout the plant.Promote team concepts and participate in teams.Complete necessary paperwork. [Quality job binders, control plans, PFMEA's, MSA studies]Understand the needs of internal/external customers. [Standards & requirements, CSR's]Understand and follow Peregrine policies and practices and any other legal requirements.Must present a professional appearance and demeanor.Must be able to interact appropriately with customers.Must be an active participant in achieving and maintaining quality goals and continuous improvement activities.Sits in the 7:30 production meeting when neededInteracts with the program coordinator for scheduling products through the departmentGives line-ups to the associates in QC on a daily basis with Quality Manager inputInvolved in external customer buy-off on partsInvolved in all launches on new jobs for timing and defining requirementsEnforcing quality at FNGAny other duties as assigned by the Quality Systems Manager.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES
  1. Extensive working knowledge of Automotive Prototype Sheet Metal Stampings, GD&T, and blue print reading.
  2. Must possess intermediate math skills.
  3. Must be able to operate the following pieces of machinery: Tarus CMM, Gauge Track and CMS
  4. Ability to analyze situations and provide possible solutions.
  5. Possess basic computer skills and work with required software.
  6. Be able to effectively communicate with others- either verbally or written.
  7. Ability to apply technical experience and knowledge to unsupervised ongoing projects.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of 5 years work/school experience.
  • Minimum high school diploma, all additional education from college to training seminars in this related field is a plus.

COMMENTS
Must be willing to adapt to changing work situations as a response to customer requirements. Willing to undergo additional vocational training.
