Job Responsibilities:

Scope of Position

  • Responsible for leading daily assembly production operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role ensures safe, efficient, and organized workflows while driving accountability, quality standards, team development, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Production Supervisor will provide hands-on leadership on the production floor, support operator development, and work closely with Team Leads and cross-functional departments to achieve production and customer requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment (automotive preferred)
  • Strong understanding of assembly operations and production flow
  • Ability to coach, lead, and motivate hourly production teams
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Working knowledge of 5S, TPM, standardized work, and lean manufacturing principles
  • Comfortable using production systems, reports, and basic computer applications
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to support overtime, weekends, and off-shifts as needed
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead daily assembly production activities to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets are achieved
  • Conduct attendance reviews at the start of each shift and make proactive staffing adjustments to support production requirements
  • Reallocate team members based on skill proficiency to support production demands and training initiatives
  • Collaborate closely with Team Leads to ensure alignment on production goals, shift responsibilities, and team coordination
  • Support Team Leads in identifying and eliminating bottlenecks while maintaining consistent material flow through communication with material handlers and support departments
  • Maintain active leadership presence on the production floor throughout the shift to support operations, employees, and issue resolution
  • Ensure proper execution of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities including equipment cleaning, RTV nozzle replacement, inspections, and required documentation
  • Hold team members accountable for scrap review, teardown activities, standardized work, attendance, and workplace expectations
  • Maintain accurate shift rosters including employee assignments, training status, and skill matrices
  • Develop and support structured operator growth, cross-training, and progression plans
  • Facilitate rotation of qualified operators to promote flexibility, skill development, and operational coverage
  • Ensure strict adherence to scheduled break coverage while maintaining production efficiency
  • Collaborate with preceding and succeeding shifts to address staffing gaps, operational concerns, and training opportunities
  • Enforce 5S workplace organization standards to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient production environment
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with operators regarding training expectations, production goals, operational rotations, and performance expectations
  • Verify all material replenishment requirements are completed prior to shift handoff to support seamless production transitions
  • Promote and enforce compliance with all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, efficiency, scrap reduction, downtime reduction, and employee engagement
  • Participate in problem-solving activities and support corrective actions related to production, quality, staffing, or equipment concerns
  • Other duties as assigned.
