Job description

Job Title: Experienced Automotive Technician

Location: Precision Transmission, 902 S. Michigan St, South Bend, IN

About Us:
Precision Transmission is a trusted, family-owned repair shop serving South Bend since 1978. We provide complete automotive repair services, from brakes and suspension to diagnostics and routine maintenance. Our team is known for quality work, a supportive environment, and a loyal customer base.

Position Overview:
We’re seeking an experienced Automotive Technician (minimum 5 years’ experience) to join our team. You’ll handle a wide range of automotive repairs—including brakes, suspension, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance—as well as transmission and engine replacements as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair all types of automotive systems (brakes, suspension, steering, electrical, etc.)

  • Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections

  • Complete transmission and engine replacements when required (no rebuilding)

  • Use advanced diagnostic tools and in-house software for vehicle updates

  • Maintain high standards for quality and safety

  • Collaborate with a skilled, supportive team

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience as an automotive technician

  • Broad knowledge of complete automotive repair

  • Experience with transmission and engine replacements a plus

  • Comfortable with diagnostic equipment and automotive software

  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to quality work

  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
