Job description

Kia of Everett, proudly part of the Harnish Auto Family, is looking for an experienced automotive General Manager who can build on an already successful dealership by developing people, strengthening culture, and helping take a great operation to its next level.

Harnish Auto Family is a family-owned dealership group serving the Puget Sound for almost 50 years. We believe in investing in our people, empowering our leaders, and building long-term careers. We believe exceptional results come from exceptional people. That's why we're looking for a leader who understands that culture, accountability, and employee development aren't separate from performance, they are what drive it.

You'll work directly alongside the active General Manager and Owner, Chris Brown, to take this store to the next level. We believe that great businesses are built on strong culture, collaborative leadership, trust in people, and data-driven decision-making. We're looking for a leader who shares those same values. This isn't an organization where you'll be expected to reinvent the wheel, instead we're looking for someone who can recognize what's working and bring fresh ideas that make a strong organization even stronger.

What You'll Do

As General Manager, you'll provide strategic leadership for the entire dealership while supporting department leaders in delivering exceptional results for our customers, employees, and business. You'll:

  • Drive profitability through strong operational leadership, sound financial management, and exceptional customer experiences.
  • Lead all dealership operations, including both Variable and Fixed Operations.
  • Analyze dealership performance, identify opportunities, and implement thoughtful strategies that support sustainable growth.
  • Ensure compliance with manufacturer standards, company policies, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Develop, coach, and mentor department leaders while building a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Build strong relationships with manufacturer representatives, business partners, and our local community.
  • Foster collaboration between Sales, Service, Parts, Finance, and Admin to maximize overall dealership performance.
  • Champion employee engagement, leadership development, and succession planning.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a proven dealership leader who has already demonstrated success in the General Manager role. Our ideal candidate has:

  • Proven success leading an automotive dealership as a General Manager.
  • A strong understanding of both Variable Operations and Fixed Operations.
  • A track record of developing and building engaged teams and creating a high-performance culture.
  • Strong financial and operational acumen with experience managing performance and profitability.
  • Experience using data and performance metrics to drive sound business decisions.
  • The ability to balance accountability with coaching and leadership development.
  • A collaborative leadership style built on integrity, transparency, and trust.
  • The confidence to challenge the status quo while respecting the foundation that's already been built.
  • A visible, approachable leadership style and a willingness to roll up your sleeves alongside your team.

Why Join Kia of Everett?

This isn't a turnaround opportunity. It's an opportunity to join an already successful dealership with an experienced team, established processes, and ownership that believes in empowering great leaders. Your ideas will be heard. Your leadership will matter. And you'll have the opportunity to help shape the next chapter of a dealership that's already positioned for continued success. If you're looking for an organization where you can make a lasting impact, develop exceptional people, and continue building something great, we'd love to have a conversation. The best General Managers don't just manage the numbers; they build teams, develop leaders, and create organizations people want to be part of. If that's how you lead, we'd welcome the opportunity to talk.

In addition, we offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package, including:

  • Competitive compensation with performance-based incentives
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Company-paid life insurance
  • 401(k) with industry leading Company match
  • Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
  • Employee vehicle purchase and service discounts
  • Ongoing leadership development and professional growth opportunities

We are an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment regardless of race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws. #ZR
