Used Car Recon Technician
We are looking for a detail-oriented Used Car Recon Technician to join our growing team! The right candidate will play a key role in preparing pre-owned vehicles for retail sale. Day-to-day duties include inspecting vehicles, performing minor mechanical repairs, coordinating detailing, and ensuring all used inventory meets our dealership's quality standards before hitting the lot.

Responsibilities
  • Perform thorough inspection of all incoming used vehicles to identify mechanical, cosmetic, and safety concerns
  • Complete minor mechanical repairs including fluid top-offs, bulb replacements, battery checks, and tire services
  • Coordinate with the service department for repairs that exceed recon scope
  • Perform or oversee interior and exterior detailing to bring vehicles to retail-ready condition
  • Complete paint touch-ups and minor cosmetic corrections as needed
  • Document all recon work completed on each vehicle accurately
  • Communicate vehicle status and estimated completion times to the Used Car Manager
  • Ensure vehicles are staged on the lot in a clean, presentable manner
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Adhere to all dealership safety policies and procedures

Qualifications
  • Previous automotive technician or recon experience preferred
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to perform minor repairs
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and presentation
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player with strong communication skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
