Job Description

Summary

The Finance Controller role plays a critical role in managing all the financial aspects related to the supply chain operations here at Link Snacks. Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining financial models to track and forecast supply chain costs and associated expenses for warehousing, transportation (inbound and outbound), 3rd party providers, and associated repacking operations.  This role ensures accurate inventory levels, analyzes key performance metrics, and partners with site leadership to maximize workflow efficiencies. Additionally, the Distribution Finance Controller manages SG&A expenses for Procurement, Logistics, and Customer Service, oversees financial reporting, annual operating plan development, compliance, cost control, network and financial analysis. As a member of the supply chain management team, this role also plans, organizes, directs, and leads the Distribution Center to support staff located in Underwood and Laurens, IA.

  • Leadership: Lead, coach, engage and professionally develop two direct and five indirect team members with a focus on developing functional, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Transportation Reporting and Analysis: Direct and manage reporting metrics, tracking models and analysis (e.g., volume mix impact)
  • Month-end Close/Forecasting: Handle period-end journal entries (JE's), financial roll-up, prepare decks, and participate in Operations results meetings
  • Secondary Manufacturing Finance Lead: Manage cost accounting and analysis, conduct labor analysis and review, update Bills of Materials (BOM) and routing, and provide project support as needed.
  • Warehouse Operation Finance Support: Conduct labor analysis and review and provide project support.
  • Capital Expenditure Management, Analysis, and Support: Oversee and analyze capital expenditures, providing necessary support.
  • SG&A Expense Management: Manage SG&A expenses for Customer Service, Logistics, and Procurement.
  • Support Continuous Improvement: Contribute to pipeline ideation, financial validation, and reporting to drive continuous improvement
  • Technology Integration: Oversee the implementation of financial software and systems to streamline distribution processes
  • Other: Performs other duties and responsibilities as necessary

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related degree program or equivalent

Required Experience:      

  • Minimum 5 years of related professional CPG finance experience; 3 years leadership experience managing a team of accountants, financial analysts or similar
  • Strong knowledge of Distribution Center and supply chain operations is required preferably in the CPG space. 
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Advanced analytical skills and ability to analyze financial data, make informed decisions, and communicate
  • Experience of using an ERP (ideally SAP) to control supply chain financials
  • Attention to detail; ensure accuracy in financial reporting and compliance
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Strong knowledge of Transportation Financials and Fuel impacts

Preferred:            

  • Prior cost accounting experience, either in a retail, food, grocery or consumer goods organization 
  • Demonstrated experience working with TMS (Transportation Management System) or similar
  • Demonstrated experience working with SAP 
  • CPA license 
  • Prior business management experience 
  • Advanced knowledge of warehouse operations, modern warehouse procedures or warehouse management systems
Additional Information

The salary range for this role is $90,000 - $130,000 (Annually).  Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, and candidate skill set and experience. Base pay is just one component of Jack Link's Total Rewards package for Team Members. Other rewards may include annual incentive and program-specific awards.
