Job Summary: Sternberg, Inc is searching for a motivated Accountant for our fast-growing dealership. The position will be in Jasper, IN, but primarily supporting our Louisville operations. We offer a 5-day work week, health insurance, and a 401K plan. Responsibilities
  • Support monthly financial close, including calculating and posting daily, weekly, and monthly transactions
  • Review financial statement accounts and schedules; review income statements and balance sheets
  • Complete monthly GM financial statement according to manufacturer guidelines
  • Complete new vehicle reporting requirements with manufacturers
  • Post monthly accounting and calculate related commissions; work with sales reps, as needed
  • Monthly bank reconciliations
  • Prepare and file sales, use, tire, and rental tax returns
  • Work with sales and operations to ensure manufacturer accounts are current and accurate
  • Monitor cash flow to ensure daily cash needs are met
  • Streamline processes and procedures; drive improved analytical tools
  • Foster teamwork across all departments

Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Accounting or Business
  • 1-2 years in accounting position preferred; office environment experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good communication skills and eagerness to improve
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
