Job description

General Sales Manager (Future GSM Candidates Encouraged to Apply)

Build a Team. Grow a Business. Create a Career.

A fast-growing, progressive Indiana automotive dealer group is looking for an exceptional leader to help us take our sales organization to the next level.

This is not a position for someone who is comfortable maintaining the status quo. We are looking for an experienced competitor—a leader who thrives on challenges, develops people, and understands that the best General Sales Managers don't manage from the office, behind a computer screen...they lead from the front.

You do not have to currently hold the title of General Sales Manager to be considered. If you have proven automotive sales and/or automotive finance management experience, a strong work ethic, and the desire to lead at the highest level, we want to talk with you.

What We're Looking For

We're searching for someone who:

  • Has automotive sales and finance experience.
  • Wants to grow into—or continue excelling as—a high-performing General Sales Manager.
  • Believes leadership means rolling up your sleeves and being involved in every deal.
  • Lives in the CRM and understands that opportunities are created—not waited for.
  • Is energized by coaching, mentoring, and developing others.
  • Is relentlessly customer-focused and committed to delivering an outstanding experience every time.
  • Holds themselves and their team to the highest standards of integrity, accountability, and professionalism.
  • Pays attention to the details because they know details drive results.

Who Won't Enjoy This Role

This position is not for someone who:

  • Is satisfied with second place.
  • Waits for deals to come to them.
  • Expects the sales staff to carry the workload while they observe from the sidelines.
  • Believes "good enough" is good enough.
  • Avoids accountability or continuous improvement.

If you're looking for an easy management job, this isn't it.

What You'll Do

  • Lead from the front by working directly with customers and your team.
  • Maximize every sales opportunity from first contact through delivery.
  • Drive CRM activity daily by mining opportunities, managing follow-up, and ensuring no customer is overlooked.
  • Coach and develop sales professionals to reach their full potential.
  • Work side-by-side with your finance and sales teams to maximize front-end and back-end profitability while maintaining complete transparency and customer trust.
  • Build a culture centered around customer satisfaction, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor key performance metrics including CSI, closing percentages, obtaining budgets, appointments, follow-up, and profitability.
  • Help grow our market share while building a championship-caliber team.

What We Offer

  • An aggressive compensation plan that rewards performance.
  • A rapidly growing dealer group with tremendous opportunity for advancement.
  • A culture built around teamwork, accountability, and winning together.
  • Leadership that invests in people who are willing to invest in themselves.
  • The opportunity to make a real impact—not just manage the day-to-day.

If This Sounds Like You...

If you're the type of person who wants to prove what you're capable of...

If you're ready to outwork the competition...

If you're passionate about developing people, creating exceptional customer experiences, and building a high-performing team...

And if you understand that your income grows as your team grows...

We want to meet you.

This is your opportunity to step into a career where your leadership, drive, and determination will be recognized, rewarded, and given every opportunity to flourish.

Champions apply. Everyone else settles.
