Job description

MRC Global serves the oil and gas industry across the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors as well as the chemical and gas distribution market sectors worldwide.

Job Purpose

Responsible for automation shop duties required to maintain accurate inventory counts, shop cleanliness, and a safe working environment while performing the manufacturing, assembly, and testing of electrical and pneumatic automated valve assemblies.

Salary Range

  • $20.00 - $24.00, depending on position qualifications, job-related skills and experience, education, certifications, and geographic location.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (not all inclusive)

Individual must be able to perform the essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Maintain shop cleanliness in compliance with OSHA and MRC Global safety policies.

  • Work closely with the Operations Manager and Technical Inside Sales Reps to properly complete customer orders.

  • Assemble packages according to the sales order.

  • Demonstrate aptitude to assemble and test mechanical, electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic automated assemblies.

  • Prepare documentation for each order in a neat and orderly manner.

  • Perform other duties or projects as assigned.

  • Take reasonable care for the safety and health of yourself and others; report workplace hazards, injuries, or illnesses immediately.

Education, Experience & Ability Requirement

Any combination of requirements that provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform essential duties and responsibilities will be considered.

  • High school diploma or GED (General Education Degree).

  • Ability to learn and be proficient in working with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic valve automation assemblies. Ability to learn and operate

  • material handling equipment.

  • Basic knowledge of gearing, bearings, and mechanical assemblies. Basic Knowledge of electricity and electrical components.

  • Knowledge of and ability to use basic hand and power tools.

  • General working knowledge of tools, wrenches, and mechanical parts and warehouse equipment.

  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.

  • Ability to work effectively individually and in teams.

  • Ability to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime.

Additional Qualifications

  • Must have the ability to provide documentation verifying legal work status.

  • Ability to read and speak the English language proficiently in order to communicate with others, understand and interpret safety instructions, and respond to inquiries.

  • Ability to understand and comply with MRC Global guidelines and expectations, including the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest guidelines.
