Description

CLX Engineering is seeking a Software Engineer II focused on building and supporting industrial software applications that drive airport, logistics, and material handling operations. This is a true software engineering role-not a field controls technician position. The ideal candidate is a strong developer who understands industrial environments and can build reliable, scalable applications that integrate with automation systems, databases, and operational platforms.


This role will work closely with the Software Engineering Manager and software development team to support CMMS-focused initiatives, industrial applications, integrations, and backend system functionality supporting automated operations.


What You'll Do
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain industrial software applications and backend services 
  • Build scalable applications using C#, Python, and modern .NET technologies 
  • Develop and maintain APIs, integrations, and database-driven applications 
  • Support CMMS-related software initiatives and operational application development 
  • Collaborate with controls engineers, project managers, and operations teams to support software integration needs 
  • Participate in software architecture discussions, code reviews, and development planning 
  • Troubleshoot software-related issues within production and testing environments 
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, development standards, and deployment procedures 
  • Support application deployments, upgrades, and lifecycle maintenance 
  • Contribute to software modernization initiatives across industrial automation systems

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering or software development experience 
  • Strong proficiency in: 
    • C# 
    • Python 
    • .NET / ASP.NET 
    • SQL databases 
  • Experience building enterprise or industrial software applications 
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, object-oriented programming, and application lifecycle management 
  • Experience with REST APIs, integrations, and backend services 
  • Familiarity with source control and development tools (Git, Azure DevOps, etc.) 
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with technical and operational teams 
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities 
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
