"MS SQL Server Administration (Primary Focus - 70%)

Installation & Configuration:

• Install, configure, and upgrade SQL Server instances (2016/2019/2022)

• Deploy and manage SQL Server on Windows and Linux platforms

• Configure SQL Server on Azure (Azure SQL Database, Managed Instance, SQL VM)

• Set up and maintain development, testing, and production environments

• Implement SQL Server clustering and Always On Availability Groups

• Configure database mirroring and log shipping for disaster recovery

Performance & Optimization:

• Monitor and tune SQL Server performance using DMVs, Extended Events, Query Store

• Analyze and optimize query execution plans

• Implement and maintain index strategies (clustered, non-clustered, columnstore)

• Perform database defragmentation and statistics updates

• Configure Resource Governor for workload management

• Optimize tempdb configuration and usage

• Conduct capacity planning and performance baseline analysis

Backup & Recovery:

• Design and implement comprehensive backup strategies (full, differential, transaction log)

• Perform database restores and point-in-time recovery

• Test disaster recovery procedures regularly

• Implement and maintain backup compression and encryption

• Configure and manage backup retention policies

• Document and maintain RTO/RPO requirements

• Automate backup verification processes

High Availability & Disaster Recovery:

• Configure and maintain Always On Availability Groups

• Implement and manage failover cluster instances (FCI)

• Set up database mirroring and log shipping solutions

• Design multi-datacenter DR strategies

• Perform regular failover testing and documentation

• Monitor synchronization health and latency

Automation & Scripting:

• Develop T-SQL scripts for automation and maintenance

• Create and manage SQL Server Agent jobs

• Implement PowerShell scripts for administrative tasks

• Automate database deployment and refresh processes

• Build monitoring and alerting solutions

• Develop self-service tools for development teams

SSIS, SSRS, SSAS Administration:

• Deploy and manage SSIS packages and projects

• Configure and maintain SSRS report servers

• Support SSAS tabular and multidimensional models

• Troubleshoot ETL processes and data integration issues

• Optimize package execution and resource usage

Oracle Database Administration (Secondary - 20%)

• Manage Oracle Database instances (11g/12c/19c)

• Perform basic Oracle administration tasks (user management, tablespaces, backups)

• Monitor Oracle database performance and health

• Execute Oracle patching and minor upgrades

• Support application teams with Oracle-related issues

• Assist with Oracle to SQL Server migrations

• Maintain Oracle backup and recovery procedures

• Troubleshoot Oracle connectivity and performance issues

PostgreSQL Administration (Secondary - 10%)

• Deploy and maintain PostgreSQL databases (versions 12+)

• Configure PostgreSQL replication and high availability

• Perform backup and recovery operations (pg_dump, pg_basebackup)

• Monitor PostgreSQL performance and optimize queries

• Manage user roles, permissions, and authentication

• Support application development teams with PostgreSQL

• Implement PostgreSQL security best practices

• Assist with PostgreSQL to SQL Server migrations

General Database Administration:

• Develop and maintain database standards and best practices
