The George E. Booth Co., a family-owned and operatedindustrial automation sales company, is seeking a full-time Area SalesManager to lead sales efforts throughout Indiana.
Since 1963, The George E. Booth Co. has served as a majordistributor of process instrumentation products and related services forcustomers across Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and Tennessee. The companyis built on a long-standing commitment to providing technical expertise,quality products, and exceptional customer service within the industrialprocess instrumentation field.
Position Summary
The Area Sales Manager will oversee sales activities withinthe assigned Indiana territory, build and maintain strong customerrelationships, guide and develop sales team members, and support strategicbusiness growth. This individual will work closely with customers, principals,internal teams, and cross-functional partners to identify needs, delivereffective solutions, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated sales leader withstrong technical aptitude, business acumen, coaching ability, and acustomer-focused mindset.
Essential Responsibilities
Direct and coordinate sales activities involving companyproducts and services throughout the assigned territory.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers,principals, internal teams, and cross-functional partners.
Identify customer needs, recommend appropriate solutions,and maintain open communication to ensure customer expectations are met.
Resolve customer concerns and complaints related toproducts, services, and sales support in a timely and professional manner.
Review operational records, sales reports, and accountinformation to forecast sales activity, evaluate performance, and determineprofitability.
Maintain current knowledge of company principals, products,services, sales methods, and industry developments.
Promote and uphold quality customer-service standards whilecoaching team members to meet those same expectations.
Mentor, guide, and support sales team members in makinginformed, ethical, and effective business decisions.
Use empathy, active listening, and professionalcommunication when interacting with customers, peers, direct reports, andinternal partners.
Motivate team members, encourage healthy competition, anduse analytical and data-driven coaching techniques to support individual andteam success.
Foster customer engagement and strategically guide businessdecisions in the best interest of the company.
Travel regularly throughout the assigned Indiana territoryduring normal business hours.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering or another relatedtechnical field is highly preferred.
Three to five years of relevant sales experience within theprocess-control, industrial automation, instrumentation, or related industry ispreferred.
Three to five years of experience leading, mentoring,guiding, or supporting a professional sales team is preferred.
Strong ability to build customer relationships and develop athorough understanding of customer needs.
Demonstrated ability to negotiate, including basiccontract-negotiation skills.
Strong business acumen, professional presentation, andcustomer-service orientation.
Excellent verbal communication, active-listening, coaching,and interpersonal skills.
Ability to self-initiate work, establish goals, managepriorities, and work independently.
Proficiency with basic computer applications and businesssystems.
Clean driving record required.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Schedule, Travel, and Work Environment
This is a full-time, salaried-exempt position working Mondaythrough Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work maybe required based on business needs.
Daily travel throughout Indiana is required, includingregular in-person access to customers and direct reports. Overnight travel israrely expected; however, occasional travel throughout the United States may berequired.
The role may involve exposure to fumes, airborne particles,moving mechanical parts, loud noise, vibration, and occasional extremeconditions at customer job sites.
