Job Summary
This position is responsible for leading a team of Account Managers in developing sales, profits, and relationships with end user commercial clients and the contracting and engineering community. This position will be working with MESA Account Managers, Sales Directors and Operations Teams to fully realize the sales potential in HVAC and Building Automation.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
โ€ข Develops and executes a business plan and sales strategy for the market that ensures the attainment of company sales goals and profitability.
โ€ข Ensures that Account Managers meet or exceed activity standards for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, proposals, and closes.
โ€ข Responsible for the performance and development of the Account Managers.
โ€ข Delegates authority and responsibility with accountability and follow-up.
โ€ข Sets examples for Account Managers in personal character, commitment, organizational and selling skills, and work habits.
โ€ข Mentors and coaches, the team to build motivation and selling skills.
โ€ข Maintains contact with key clients in the market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
โ€ข Demonstrates the ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees.
โ€ข Initiates and coordinates the development of an action plan to penetrate new markets.
โ€ข Conducts one-on-one reviews with Account Managers to build more effective communications, understand training and development needs, and provide insight for improving sales and activity performance.
โ€ข Prepare sales forecast and activity reports for management.
โ€ข Provides and maintains accurate records of pricing, sales, activity reports, and proposals submitted by Account Managers.
โ€ข Creates and conducts proposal presentations, RFP responses, and monthly sales meetings.
โ€ข Controls expenses to meet budget guidelines.
โ€ข Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
โ€ข Prepare and conduct annual professional sales development training and prepare Coaching and Action plans.
โ€ข Identifies new business opportunities within the automation industry to further develop and grow the business
โ€ข Coaches and mentors, the team to develop new business with MESA clients, while also identifying new business opportunities with various contractors for new plan and specification pursuits.
โ€ข Develops and maintains key relationships within the Engineering community for plan and specification work
โ€ข Apply the principles of financial selling and conceptually understand energy efficiency to help build compelling value for our clients.
โ€ข Develop relationships with other business partners to help grow deals for sellers
Qualifications
โ€ข Associate's degree in business administration or related field or equivalent experience required, B.A. / B.S. desired
โ€ข 7+ years of sales experience required within the HVAC/Automation field.
โ€ข Prior Sales Leadership/Management experience desired
โ€ข Good time management, communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
โ€ข Excellent PC skills (Excel, Word, Dynamics, PowerPoint)
โ€ข Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
โ€ข High collaboration, problem solving and action orientation are attributes required for this position.
