Overview:
Hi All,
Client:TCS
Location:NYC,NY(F2F IS MUST)
Automation engineer
10+ years in automation engineering (QA Automation, Selenium , test engineering, platform automation, or similar).
2+ years leading teams (formal people manager or strong delivery/team lead experience).
Strong experience building automation frameworks using one or more:
Java / Python / JavaScript
UI Automation: Selenium, Playwright,
API Automation: RestAssured, Postman
Proven experience creating management dashboards/reports, consolidating data, and defining KPIs.
Strong knowledge of SDLC, Agile, CI/CD, version control (Git), and defect tracking (Jira/ADO).
Excellent communication skills: can explain technical details and business impact to leadership.
1) Automation Engineering & Solution Delivery
Lead the design and implementation of end-to-end automation solutions (UI/API automation, RPA, data automation, workflow orchestration).
Define and enforce automation standards, reusable frameworks, code quality guidelines, and best practices.
Drive CI/CD integration for automation pipelines (scheduled runs, reporting, alerting, and automated evidence collection).
Conduct technical reviews, perform root cause analysis for failures, and improve resilience of automation suites.
Collaborate with architects, product owners, QA, and operations teams to align automation with business outcomes.
2) Team Leadership & People Management (Core)
Manage and mentor a team of automation engineers (2-10+ depending on scale).
Own hiring support, onboarding, performance management, career coaching, and skills development plans.
Plan capacity, assign work, manage priorities, and ensure on-time delivery of sprint/release commitments.
Establish a culture of engineering excellence, documentation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
3) Data Consolidation, Metrics & Reporting (Core)
Consolidate data from multiple sources (test runs, defect systems, release tools, monitoring, manual inputs) into a single reporting view.
Create and maintain automation execution dashboards (coverage, pass/fail trends, flakiness, cycle time, defect leakage, productivity metrics).
Produce weekly/monthly management reports with narrative insights, risks, and recommended actions.
Ensure data integrity: implement validations, audit trails, and consistent KPI definitions.
Present automation maturity and outcomes to leadership; translate metrics into decisions.
4) Stakeholder & Program Management
Partner with business, QA, DevOps, and platform teams to define roadmaps, success metrics, and adoption strategies.
Communicate progress, risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans clearly to senior stakeholders.
Support compliance, audit readiness, and documentation where required (especially in regulated environments).
