Responsibilities
Automated Packaging Machine Operator
The Automated Packaging Machine Operator sets up and oversees the operation of case erector and case sealer equipment, requesting boxes from the warehouse, palletize boxes according to spec, verifying correct case match product to specification, change tape rolls out.
Follows Shearer's GMP and food quality according to the SQF, wrapping and labeling of pallets according to company standards. Conduct quality checks, clears faults on automated case makers, order boxes, complete a detailed shift hand off.
Ensures equipment is in good working order and free from debris, endure box maker and/or case sealer is running and constantly re-stocked with boxes, tape, other tasks as assigned.
The Packaging Operator will detect faulty operations and defective material; reports those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience you will bring to the team:
  • Previous experience working with food safety regulations

  • Prior experience performing safety checks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

  • Prior experience with Case Packaging equipment a plus

  • Experience performing routine cleaning of equipment.

  • Strong aptitude in mechanic and preventative maintenance skills.

  • Understanding and interpreting equipment manuals.
